Just wondering if its possible to change the position and size of the PiP?

Not the size (yet), but position, yes.
When using PIP, press the blue button. PIP options listed at the end.

Would it be possible to move it by a shorter distance in future builds?

You can easily move and resize the PiP window: press blue when PiP is active to see the options.
