please can someonr tell me what the ftp pass word is i know the user should be root

U should be able to type anything if its just ftp

tried the default vuplus and tried leaving it blank no luck

There's no default password set.
What ftp client are you using? Try using an ftp app like filezilla.
Username = root & password can be left blank.

It's not though if filezilla and flash fxp aren't working. Something else wrong on your network/settings?

If the image is a clean image and by that I mean downloaded from www.openvix.co.uk or from this forum, then you dont need a password as we do not set one, we leave that up to you the user to do. If it is one of the many so called lazy mans "backup images" then your guess is as good as mine as we have no way of knowing what they added or took away from the base image.

You could try the passwd command via a telnet session assuming you can login to telnet without the password.

Then there is little you can do but to reflash the receiver.

There is no password set on the ViX image by default.
