Ever since Apollo 25 my 1TB WDD external either won't be recognised and cause a spinning vix and can only be stopped by turning the unit off or sometimes will see but all files says they have 0 size,
I have the ntfs-3g driver, have reflashed from stratch twice , HD works fine with my PC and TV just not the duo
Its very frustrating as it used to work and now doesn't..
Wondering what I have missed.

Ntfs 3G is incompatible with the new kernel. You can use the kernels ntfs support but will get read only, no write.

thanks, read only is what i was using for anyway
so if i remove the ntfs 3g , will it still be supported, because in the past I had used the ntfs plugin, but can't find that now
thanks

Ntfs 3G won't work until the author fixes it to work with the new kernel. You could try

opkg install kernel-module-ntfs

but as I said the kernel only supports ntfs as read only from my understanding. I assume you are mounting it read only....

Mine has been exactly the same, is there a tutorial to explain the above? Driving me crazy now

Hi Tkr001,

thanks removed the ntfs 3g , I can now see the external HDD, but it wont mount at all, no matter
blue button/VIX/Mount Manager and fix it with green button is not working, does the setup and restarts but still is not mounted, I can see it in the mount manger but size is empty
, yes only want it for read only
how do I do this
'opkg install kernel-module-ntfs"

thanks again

I use putty myself but yes you can do as the tutorial says. Login as "root" and if you haven't set a password it will be blank. Then issue the command and hit enter.

I download putty, but each time I went to type in the command it said session times out, last night I found and enabled telnet so will have another go with that tonight, its a bugger , as there used to be a NTFS plugin that worked fine before.

Success

It worked awesome Thanks to Tkr001, got the telnet did command, powered off the Duo, restarted, with HDD in place, library location and there it was, and saw all my files too,

How can I do this with Flash FXP? Is there a way? Tried tutorial but Im a dunce!

Hi Adam, firts thing is you need to 'enable' telnet on your pc, depend on what you are running as a operating system, I have XP so just did a search, and you also need the IP address of your box once you have those you are good to go,

You don't do this with Flash FXP. That is a file transfer program. What you need is a terminal emulator such as putty or that which is inbuilt in windows. The tutorial seems clear yo me so I am not sure where you are having trouble. In order for anyone to really help you need to be specific as to where you are running into trouble.
