now by no means am I saying its the VU+duo at fault, but somethings happened and it wasnt happening before I had the VU.

Let me explain,

your sitting there quite the thing watching whatever, a movie, itv, etc etc on the vu, and so far today this has happened twice.

SUDDENLY the Sound surround system switches on very loud by its self, gives ya the fright of your life, you then have to turn it all off as quick as possible as its blowing the roof off.

I thought possibly theres something in the vu image that is switching on the sound system, i have it connected by optical audio cable, but then i thought nah surley it cant be that ? hmmm, i dunno, all i know is its frightening when it happens as ya get an almighty fright, LOL.

BUT, at the same time, as well as the vu box being new about 2 weeks old , also i have had the new Logitech sound system only about 2 months, but like i mentioned before, this hasnt happened before until today.

strange eh ?

I started thinking things like maybe the vu has an alarm clock built in and its switching on the sound system, but then i thought nah, it would just turn on the tv sound in that case then ?

something somewhere is not right, thats obvious, but I dont have a clue what.

anyone have any ideas ?

sound system is this one >>>> http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/speakers-audio/home-pc-speakers/devices/224
it doesnt appear to have any functions but the basic ones, doest do much to be honest.

it never been experienced by anyone else so i suggest its not the duo but your sound system

i have logitech 7.1 speakers on my PC and they have done that before for a split second mind you

ye i know what you mean with the split second thing, but this is actually switching the sound system on and blasting the house down till we go fix it, i cant say its the vu or a bug in the image as i dont have a clue that way, all i can say is this didnt start until today and ive only had the vu 2 weeks and the logitech about 2 months, and the logitech was connected to the tv with same optical cable to the tv as it is now connected to the vu with, hmmmm, strange, something is wrong somehow. :(

Dunno mate there i assure you it cant be the vu so best bet its to try fnd out if it either your TV or your sound system

BTW what image are you actually using

give it an update when you mate does it and then see hwt happens and report back

BTW i like the new avatar much better ;)

Look at what else you have connected to your sound system.

When you switch everything to standby make sure everything is in standby, then if it happenes again look at what has come one. Then we might be able to track down the cause.

its happening when its on though ? and its only the vu and the tv thats on at the time.

Have you tried disconnecting everything from the speakers (i.e. tv/vu/anything else) and leaving it for a while and see whether you can see if it's been turned up again?

Also, try just having one connected, and see if it does it?! I.e. disconnect the duo and leave tv connected, does it do it? Leave duo connected and disconnect the tv, does it do it?!

what i will do is if it happens again which no doubt it will, i will just connect the sound system directly to the tv with the optical cable instead of to the vu, that way i can test to see if its still happening but taking the vu out the question, then we elniminate the vu, and it will still work anyway as the sound is connected to the tv and anything that goes through the tv will go through the sound system should i wish, we shall see, either that or we could fix the problem of why the vu is causing the problem in the first place, agaian, lets just wait n see. (if its the vu i mean*).

Is the volume on the Duo itself set to full? Maybe its turned down and not kicking in the sound system when it should be?

Does the sound system have a setting where it kicks in at certain volumes?

Have you checked the optical cable, is it seated correctly both ends?

Have you checked all the sound system settings?
