I did an online update this morning from 098 to 099 and forgot to deselect ABM beforehand as warned by Abu and I found I had no EPG data at all.

Anyhow, I removed the config lines as suggested by Abu and setup ABM as new, rescanned channels and then tried to re-download EPG data but I still have no EPG data displayed.

Once the FTP site is updated with 099, I will do a fresh flash with no restore to see if that's solves my problem.

I use ZZL's ABM beforehand and after I removed settings used it again. The channels are there to when using channel up/down or by directly entering the channel number. It's just EPG isn't displaying anything.

I had the same problem as bbbuk on my VU Solo2. Re-flashed back to 098 problem solved. This would suggest there is a bug in 099.

Users actually providing us with diagnostic information such as debug logs would go a lot farther than just posting "It does not work so I went back to 98". I dont mean to be rude but posts like that dont do any thing to help us find and fix issues.

Please advise how I can produce a debug log for V099 now that I am running on V098, thanks.

I deleted my epg file and did another ABM and EPG scan and it was fine. It's possible that I had a corrupt epg file.

I will do a fresh install once FTP site has 099 on it (just my personal preference to always do a fresh install :) )

I didn't think debug logs would show anything as it must have happened during the online update.

My post was not specifically directed towards your self, it was more to the growing mass of users who reply to a thread saying that they have a problem and went back to xxx image, without bothering to consider grabbing a log or submitting any thing else in the way of diagnostic information.

When reporting or confirming a issue it's always best to provide as much information as possible, such as any new plugins you may have installed and from where, also try to get a debug log or crash log where possible, even if they dont contain information relevant to the issue at hand they will help us narrow down the issue faster.

An image update doesn't do anything to data.
When no EPG data is available, they must be imported (using the same source as you used to use, so probably Cross-OpenTV for UK services).

As I have said before ABM has nothing to do with your EPG so dont get too hung up on that when looking for reasons as to why this happening.

I did try that initially and tried re-setting my EPG settings but it made no difference. Deleting epg file helped so must have got corrupted :)

Also remember when you delete the epg.dat file to place enigma into sleep mode first via a telnet session. EPG data is live data so just deleting the file while enigma is running runs the risk of it regenerating from the corrupted data still held in the receivers ram.

Ah, but you didn't say you deleted epg.dat.....
Initially I didn't think of deleting epg file but when I thought more about it, I tried it and it worked. I did post earlier on (post #8) that deleting epg file helped.

I remembered you mentioning that a while ago and always put box to sleep before doing anything via FTP

I thought you would say that, but I am not going to ;):):)

I had the very same issue with no EPG on version 99. I just had to set my region again and run cross epg and abm and that sorted it.

If you are not at least prepared to help when asked to then why bother to report issues in the first place ?. We are not magicians and we rely on users submitting bug reports along with diagnostic data, those who simply reply to boost their post count are of little use to us.

I did have a problem after going to -099 to address the "slugish" problem. After flashing -098 and upgrading to -099 I then realised (thanks to a post by Abu) that ABM had also changed so after having hung at bootlogo I decided to do a FULL clean build. USB Flash -098, online upgrade to -099. Cam etc ABM using new ZZL. Cross EPG. Local security re paswords, oPenWebif etc and finally the new YouVix 1080 skin. To me it works well in either Graph or Text mode - yes slower in Graph but nod bad
So all is well over here - bring on the "Centenary build" :-)
