[ViX_Misc] No EPG data after online update from 098 to 099

Also remember when you delete the epg.dat file to place enigma into sleep mode first via a telnet session. EPG data is live data so just deleting the file while enigma is running runs the risk of it regenerating from the corrupted data still held in the receivers ram.

can you use ftp instead of telnet to delete epg dat file?

Yes you delete the ftp file via FTP but you must still use a telnet session to place enigma into sleep mode using the init 4 command.

I updated to build 099, the following day, I'm assuming after the box did its downloading thing during the night, I lost the epg, and the ability to input a channel via its channel number with the remote.

The only channels that were showing were the list of all channels, no favourites.

I found in the end that in the ABM menu, the providers list were all set to "No" so that it wasn't generating anything during the overnight download. I'm only guessing that this happened in build 099?
