Gigablue front LCD

Hi,

I have a problem with my gigablue quad with apollo 115.
The lcdsplash.bin image stay permanently on the front lcd of the box.
The vfd lcd display nothing other than the splash screen.
I've tried to reflash boot loader and vix apollo 115 many times.
There is no settings in the menu for LCD.
I need your help, before i used vix 3.0 808 and lcd works great.

Menu> Setup> System> Front display panel> settings.

Have a look in there and see what you can do.

Some thing is wrong with your image then. Try reflashing with a image from www.openvix.co.uk

I tried several firmware build (94,106,112,113,115) the only one that worked is finally apollo 023 for the front panel.
any idea?

Well I have build 115 on mine and it's there and has always been.

Hi,

my problem is not only with build 115 but with all build after 023.
Perhaps my gb quad with serial yad1209xxxxxxx is the problem (hardware)

I had a black screen once with mine after an update, I opened the box up, in clipped the ribbon cable for the LCD and gave it a blow then put it back, was fine after that.
Strange as I hadn't really moved the box the disturb it.

After many flash it seems that my lcd front panel is not compatible with 3.14.2 drivers or kernel.
I tried with image like openmips 4.2, openrsi 4.1, openld 1.8, italysat 6.3, opendroid 4.2.
Firmware that includes newest driver 3.14.2 let my front lcd black or with fixed image lcdsplash.bin.
Other 3.3.8 or older drivers good working.
It is an driver issue , please can someone help?

My own gigablue quad is using the 3.14.2 kernel and drivers and the LED works perfectly with all ViX image builds.

I'm a novice using a Gigablue 800SE+. I reported an issue with my Front Panel display several months back after I reflashed (replacing my Zeus image with latest Apollo image). With Zeus (and earlier versions) I could adn did amend the Front Panel display settings so that when I powered the unit off all displays (clock and red panel) went off leaving my bedroom nice and dark. Since the reflash I don't have access to 'Front Panel display' settings and have a sheet of paper covering the panel. Is it the same problem as yours?

Just a thought, are any of you restoring settings from an earlier version of Vix? If so, try doing a clean flash with no restore.

@smart1 - there was a new bootloader on GB Quad and GB Quad Plus at around the time of ViX image 023/024. See here - http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php?dir=Bootloaders/GiGaBlue-Bootloaders/GiGaBlue-QUAD/

You may have to flash this before you use any of the later images.
