Hello

I have a Miraclebox Premium box with VIX Apollo...

Noticed thar there is a Kodi plugin for download, but it seems to be just an add-on.

Is there any XBMC player, KODI or similar to play movies, music and so on in a nice way from HDD?

Only for supported Vu+ hardware (Solo SE, Solo2, Duo2) unless the other manufacturers come up with their own versions, the version currently in beta is closed source and for Vu+ hardware only.

The Mut@nt has it's own version coming too but that is in the form of a new image not as a plugin for E2 as with Vu+'s version.

No it's totally in the hands of Vu+ and they are really really bad at releasing updates.

Running the Kodi plug in on my Mutant great films etc just a little slow once you've selected the film to load up, but saying that it is only a STB.:thumbsup:

Personally I have given up on XBMC / KODI on my Solo2 for the time being, instead I use two Amazon Fire TV boxes which full official XBMC / KODI support where as the Vu+ version is pretty much closed source and lags badly behind a properly supported device.

It's still very early days yet so probably a tad unfair to compare it to more mature offerings, but even with my limited knowledge of XBMC / KODI I can see a massive difference with the E2 offerings on the solo2 and a officially supported machine. It certainly would be enough to turn me away from XBMC completely if I did not have other devices that do have official support.

The good thing about the Kodi plug in is that it is all set up with nothing to install etc , just a case of grabbing the film
