Hello,
could you please share working and tested usb wifi adapters for Gigablue Quad Plus.

Many thanks :)

The availability of drivers depends on the image, and not (or hardly) on the box in use.
So please tell us which image you are using.

There are too many on ebay for me to know if works and a lot of them don't say what chipset is inside.

Found one with this chipset "Ralink RT 5372" will this work?

I purchased this one
TP-LINK 300Mbps Mini Wireless N USB Adapter
Model No TL-WN823N

At a cost of £12.00 from a well known Supermarket

worked on VU Zero without the need to install any additional drivers other than what's included the VIX Apollo Image

TP-Link TL-WR702N Universal N Nano Travel Router/Wi-Fi Range Extender/TV, Gaming Set-top Adapter with USB Charger".

Have gigablue openvix apollo 126, set up the device in "client mode" then plug the ethernet from nano router to receiver and it works perfectly.
Using it until i get a usb adapter.

Yes. Would like to know if any AC adaptors work.

These are plug and play with all boxes with VIX image installed. LB-Link USB Wi-Fi Module with Antenna for Raspberry Pi Computer. It uses a RTl8192cu WiFi chip from Realtek.

Bit of a resurrection job on the thread? Surely it would be better to post a list of the core chip-sets supported by the default drivers in the image? This could then be cross referenced by users to see which dongles use what chip-set as that information is generally available easily online (even where the same OEM switches chip set with a rev2 etc.).

I hope many excellent articles will be posted on your site. Thank you very much for this and continue to share.

Hi,
this thread was not filled with enough information so I add some.

I have working with OpenVix now
TP-Link WN722N (out of the box) and
TP-Link WN822N V4 (after installing RTL8192EU driver)

ciao

The TP-Link WN823N V2 works perfectly with the RTL8192EU driver.

TP-Link WN727N works out of the box

The Edimax EW-7811Un (V1.0A) works out the box on the Xtrend ET8500 running OpenViX build 5.1.013.

Looking online, websites say the EW-781Un runs on a Realtek RTL8188CU chipset, but on my receiver it seems to be working with the Realtek RTL8192CU driver. I'm not sure if the EU and US models run on different chipsets, and if my EU does in fact have a RTL8192CU chipset, while the US models have a RTL8188CU chipset, but it's the only reason I can think of for the discrepancy.

The same driver handles both chipsets on Linux - it just happens to be named after the latter rather than the former.

Thats the way it should be done. Works here like a charm, no need for drivers, stable, reliable...
The USB-Thingis always shit you in the boat. They stop working after 30 min or do not survive reboots and so on...
And they may work or not after the next update...
