[VU+ Solo2] Error - A background update check is in progress - pre and post upgrade to Hades

Error - A background update check is in progress, please wait a few minutes and try again.
feed status: stable

VU+ Solo 2 box was running appollo 132
was set to check for updates automatically but obviously hasnt been working, so when I checked last night manualy - I kept getting the above error.
I can ping world of satellite etc, epg downloader still works, can still ftp to the receiver etc.
Done mulitple box and router reboots - no change and ran the network test from the box which passed.

I can still see all my channels via the ccam etc.

So I updated to the latest Hades version via USB stick (as of last night - proxy access from work prevents confirmation of version number will put in later)

This was problematic in that I lost some of the ABM config, (I did this a few times; I think I did a flash without the running the restore wizard at one point to try and get rid of the error) however the box is now up and running, the only thing is I am still getting the error!!.

Any suggestions please?

An Aside::::
I lost my picons (prior to upgrade) and the USB stick which they were on had dissapeared in mount manager, reboots didnt get it back, I tried a 2 GB stick which wasnt recognised, then a third 32gb stick which was recognised so now that bit is working (probably not related but thought I'd include for completeness)

You shouldn't do a restore between different image releases, it is always a fresh flash with no restore. As it is I think you answered your own question, turn off automatic update.

the issue still remains, even after doing the flash without a restore. (as I said above the last one was without any restore)

I dont want to trun off automatic update and also I want to have the ability to update the image from within the gui, which I dont have. Its a pain to have to do it by USB every time etc.

You need to fresh flash without restores to Hades Build 013 (latest) if you are still on Apollo.

Telnet following command and post back results

df -h

opkg update && opkg list-upgradable

It is possible you have a plugin installed on your storage device that opkg is trying to update.

I'm also getting this message when I try to download plugins....i was on build 12 of hades and it was happening and it wasn't letting me download the softcams. ..so updated to 13 and still coming up....

Then please do the same thing as in post 7. There are guides to telnet on forum if you need them.

We dont know what the issue is.

Flashing latest image with no restores is a possible action.

Sorry, my mistake. Can you post back just the results of

opkg list-upgradable

Best to see those separately.

As I started thread I thought I'd better update, came back in tonight and tried update again, it now gets past that error, goes through the package list update and then I get the message on screen "Information (10), Nothing to Upgrade"
(the (10) in brackets is a countdown timer before the message dissapears)
I have mode no further config changes (is it possible wos servers were down last night/this morning)
Also can someone confirm that the message I am now receiving is as expected for a working image.
