Hi everyone,

As per title, I went from 6.6.003 to 6.9.001 and the channels from one of my IPTV suppliers are no longer accessible. Those from a second supplier still work fine but I need the first set too, so I can record. I'm far from an expert in these things but have tried for days and days to try and sort this on my own but no joy. I'll put below some info, I think, might help, along with all the things I've tried. The channels definitely still work as I can access them from an android phone, etc. and also from another box elsewhere, still on 6.6.

I have tried searching for others with this problem or a solution but no joy. If I am being blind and there is a thread about this then please let me know and accept my apologies.

Model: VU+ Duo4K SE
Image 6.9.001 (Release)
BMX: 1.77-20260626
Xstreamity: 5.51-20260627
Both IPTV logins are http rather than https

Things I've tried:
1) Fresh install, using multiboot, both restoring settings and from scratch but same result.
2) I tried a fresh boot with the older OpenVix image but found I couldn't then download the BMX and Xstreamity plugins. :(
3) After a lot of reading, I tried downloading ServiceApp and changing to 5002 but still no change, other than everything running more slowly.
4) I think I have also tried all combinations of 4097, DVB(1) and 5002 along with combinations of Chrome 145, Firefox 125 and Android. Currently on Chrome 145 and 4097.
Best I can manage is all terrestrial and satellite channels working fine as well as those from one of my IPTV suppliers but the other just won't load, in neither BMX nor Xstreamity. Same with VOD, etc. No message or buffering, just won't work at all.

The supplier isn't interested as they, quite rightly, point out that nothing has change at their end, its my problem and my box. I have friends and family with the same supplier and similar box and the same thing has happened with those who updated their OpenVix. Others still on 6.6 are fine.

What have I missed and what should I change?

I'll put a log below (UNs and PWs removed) from where I rebooted the box, starting on a terrestrial channel before trying one from the supplier that won't work (marked as XXXXX) and then one from the other supplier that DOES work (marked YYYYY).

I really have tried everything I can think of or find online and would be super grateful if anyone has had the same problem and found a solution. Happy to provide my line details to a trusted member, if that would help and they have the time to look.

Many thanks,

Chris

1) you are mostly (?) playing IPTV so stop using FCC (uses up resources)
2. clean up your IPTV bouquets so the system doesn,t spend lots of time looking at countries I assume you never look at e.g.

Thanks TWOL, really appreciate your comments. (y)

1) I mostly use terrestrial and free satellite channels but have now turned off FCC, as suggested.

2) I'm not sure why it is showing unknown channels. I think the provider had added some Spanish channels and they got added but are not needed and I have now removed those bouquets.

3) My bad... I have been trying so many combinations but have now changed XXXXX back to 4097. Still doesn't work, as I expected but important I check and double check everything.

4) I am confused here... OpenVix has an inbuilt IPTV player? I have always only ever used BMX / Xstreamity. I have looked in menu/setup but no IPTV option. Sorry, clearly I'm being rubbish here. I only have:
A&V, T&Scanning, EPG, UI, Network, CI, Softcam Man, Storage, R, P & T/S, time, HDMI-CEC, System, Vix. Is there a plugin that I should have maybe?

Apologies for my lack of knowledge - really trying here. Cheers.

My bad…. Long press blue button, green button (download plugins) , system plugins ——> select m3uiptv and install.
After restart, then you should have menu/setup/iptv

Thank you and no problem at all. Indeed, I found it in plugins, installed and did restart. :)

I entered the IPTV UN & PW and it found the channels and made the bouquets perfectly, complete with EPG. But alas, I still can't actually watch the channels.
I have tried changing the setting to DVB, GStreamer, Exteplayer3, each with a restart and generate fresh bouquets, but still no channels are working for me. :( I'm struggling to know what to try next. :( It usually all works so well and before the 6.9 update, those IPTV worked great. And so weird that one provider's channels are still fine yet the others got ruined.

While I can use an android app to watch the channels, I can't record from there and I loved having the mixture of terrestrial, satellite and IPTV all on one box.
If there is a way to install the old 6.6 image (I know how to do that bit) and then get the plugins, then I could do that. This IPTV option would allow me but would that plugin still be there? BMX and XStreamity weren't when I tried it on a multiboot slot.

Thanks, as always, for your time and help - much appreciated.

Well if channels doesn't play now but played before then something has changed in the way those channels are configured. If you trust us its best to send to someone your subscription details and we will figure out this. Without that details i dont think we can say anything...

If you feel uncomfortable sharing that details only thing i can say is to try to set custom user agent in m3uiptv provider settings and regenerate bouquets. Use 4097 for playing.

As per Dimitar,s post you can pm one of us with the details and we will treat the information carefully in trying to fix the issue.
Dimitar wrotebthe m3uiptv plugin so is very knowledgeable in handling thes eissues.
Anyway the offer is there, hate to see issues when somebody is trying hard to fix issue themselves.

Thanks to both of you, I really appreciate your kind offer and I'll PM you both my details. I feel I've run out of things to try and can't find a solution on the forum or internet generally. It has happened to the same IPTV provider with friends on three devices now, each when they updated to 6.9 (Vu+ Duo4k, Zero4K and a Gigablue Quad 4K). Yet my other IPTV provider works fine so I guess its where something has changed in the update, possibly to improve security but the provider uses an older version that isn't compatible? It works fine on Android apps, AppleTV, etc. If nothing can be done, so be it but I need to try for the others as much as my channels - its my fault they have the same problem. 🤦‍♂️

Thanks again and PMs on their way... no rush, I'm sure you guys have 'proper' jobs and better uses for your time. Cheers, Chris.

OK so a BIG thanks to DimitarCC who spent ages yesterday, very patiently, talking me through various things to try. Also big thanks to Twol who has also been helping me with various suggestions. Both tried my playlist and both times, it worked for them. Yet for me, even with a clean install and the only plugin being M3UIPTV, it still refuses to play nice on 6.9 at my end, despite other playlists working. Its sees the bouquets and channels, and the EPG and VOD lists populate no problem but they just won't play. Very bizarre problem.

However, for now, I have found a solution and will put it below in case anyone else has the same issue and can't get their channels to work on 6.9. The playlist still works on 6.6 so I re-flashed that image onto a different slot in multiboot. The problem then, of course, was I didn't have access to downloading plugins so had to install them manually, via FTP. I was able to download them, easily enough and then FTP them into their appropriate place. I couldn't find the .apk files online so had to move the actual directories. I was worried the latest versions wouldn't be compatible but they seem to work just fine, for me.

If anyone needs any links to the plugins, or where/how to FTP them, lemme know. I'm (very) far from an expert but happy to help where I can. Hopefully I will find a solution using the latest Openvix, as that will always be the best way forward. Having multiboot, I have the option to keep checking when there are updates and switch back if it doesn't work. In hindsight, using multiboot to check updates is probably a good idea to avoid these issues being a nightmare. When I find the solution, I will post it here. (y)

Thanks again to DimitarCC and Twol, they've been great and thanks to everyone involved in the various software, plugins and the forum itself. Chris.
