[XP1000] SF8 stuck on boot screen

I've just released build 016.

Can someone please try a complete fresh flash and report back the following:

1) Does it boot yes or no?
2) Does it boot and get spinner on and off?

Just installed Hades 016 but after installing the plugins and changing the settings swap,time,etc,etc i did a reboot than it hangs waited 5 minutes and i gived up flashing back to Hades 12 now....(XP1000)

1) Installs fine until first reboot then locks on boot screen
2) Just gets to the boot screen, no spinner or loading count up on the LCD display (LCD just says "BOOT")

Is anybody able to get serial bootlogs of teh reboot issue please?

The XP1000 doesn't have an external serial connector unfortunately - not sure about the SF8.

Is there anyway to get it to write a log to the USB key or syslog etc? Just having a read on that now.

I'll give it another go later as I've bought a new USB key for testing.

OK telnet was up - SFTP isn't working but I got the dmesg and messages file off via SCP.

Looks like the box is bombing out with segfaults after bring SFTP up. At this point the box is just displaying the XP1000 screen and has been hung for a while now.

I noticed it's complaining about the filesystem on the USB key too so I'll run that through chkdsk and see if there are any problems that need fixing and I'll also try a new fresh build 016 on there - not sure why this died actually as it had been running 015 for a week fine and only hung after doing a full restart.

I thought it was 015 - I've just put 016 on this XP1000 on a brand new USB stick and it booted and let me do the wizard, and then after telling it to update and reboot it hangs on boot.

Just doing some more testing and stuck the latest OpenATV 5.0 image on the XP1000 - sure enough it hangs on boot again after a reboot.

Okay. XP1000, fresh flash with no restore and no configuration changes other than the initial wizard setup...

1) Box will run okay immediately after usb flash. But on reboot, it just hangs. Even tried an online upgrade from build 16 to build 18 - same hang on reboot.
2) Doesn't get that far

Some log files on reboot (available via telnet, even though box has hung up), similar to those already posted:

That was the 55.4mb file (openvix-Hades.016.release-xp1000max_usb.zip) for the MaxDigital. The xp1000max version - not the xp1000plus version. The file I downloaded and flashed does match the box I have!

openvix: build 013
[blackbox] update drivers
[xp1000] fix typo in conf file
[formuler] update drivers fix ci interface
[B][xp1000] switch to kernel 4.0.1[/B]
[openvix] add yahooweather to et8500 build for new lcd skin display
[HDE] Fix bitrate view
[3rd-party plugins] Update
[Mini+] Fix bitrate viewer
[oe-a skins] update kravense to v 1.8
[formuler] Delete old kernel recipe due to switch over to new kernel
[hde2] update kernel

As you say, builds 12 and less seem to work okay, whereas 13 and above fail as already detailed in this thread. I suspect the issue will be down to this Kernel update. Hopefully the devs will be able to get to the bottom of the issue.

They're having the same problems with OpenATV 5.0 as well so it's not just OpenVIX affected with the kernel change - probably the other OE images too.

will there be a fix for this as i have just loaded open atv 4.2 and thats the same. back to vix older image.

im having the same issue with the latest hades and an sf8 hd
stuck on boot atm.

if i turn the unit off take the usb stick out and turn on, it boots fine.
