Hi all.
There appears to be a Bug in the Vu+ driver update from build 14.
I am running a VU+ Solo2 with a Sundtek usb tuner for cable and it works great.
Was running perfect until I upgraded from build 9 to 14, when I started getting a picture Judder on all channels, but especially bad on HD.
It was almost like the picture was dropping frames or slowing down, then trying to catch up, but it was quite bad.

I reflashed my backup from build 9 and all was spot on again. I See another member reported the same problem on the 30-06 and seems to have cured it be rolling back to before the vu+ driver update as well.

Thanks

Is this on FTA channels as well?

I'm running Hades 18 (online update from 16) and can't say I've noticed any picture judder on my Solo2.

Just confirmed this is an issue for me on all channels using my usb dvb stick running hades 14. let me update again and retest.

I am having a similar Problem and the sound is also distorted.

Thanks guys for confirming. seems like the driver update might be the issue.
I might try reinstalling build 15 and installing old drivers to confirm.
Might have to wait a couple of days though as I am flat out at the moment.

i'm not using a sundtek tuner (mine is a kworld one) so it looks like its related to USB but not Sundtek.

That really makes me think it is the vu+ driver update that is causing the problem. Maybe the vix team would be so kind as to report it to Vu+?
Don't really want to be stuck on Hades build 9 forever and miss out on updates and features.

The main VU+ drivers, at least on their own, are okay but I guess they could be causing a problem when used in conjunction with usb tuners (I don't have one).

The new VU+ drivers were introduced around hades 13/14 so try build 12 or less which will have the older VU+ drivers or best thing to see if it is main VU+ drivers is to copy the old drivers in build 12 or less to pc/laptop and flash to latest build and replace drivers in latest build with those you copied from build 12 (or less).

I reported the problem on my solo2 with sundtek, it was suggested I try to capture the fault on camera which proved hard to do, I certainly found rolling hades back to 12 fixed the problem, I have been out of thecountry so havnt been following the forum, but before I left on holiday one thing I did find is that a certain program it was bad on, 8 out of 10 cats on CH4 HD, I decided to record the program, on replaying the recording the next day there was no problems...?

Hi all. Will there be any fix for this? Is anyone aware of what is causing the issue?

But it isn't the USB tuner that is the problem, people with different manufactured USB tuners are all having the same problem, it is VU+'latest driver, just checked my terrestrial USB tuner on my duo2 antd that is juddering too but going back to a build before the new VU+ drivers fixes it, how hard is it to use old driver in new image?

Only way to prove it's the new VU drivers is to use latest image with the VU drivers released before the current ones and seeing if problem is apparent.

Either that or see if problem exist on latest Vix image using another box that isn't VU.

There could have been changes to Vix between image versions that may have caused it, or contribute towards the problem.

Drivers are normally saved, at least as far as VU is concerned in, "/lib/modules/3.13.5/extra". The 3.13.5 is the kernel version and may be different depending on which VU box you have and the kernel version it's running. This kernel version is used on a Solo2.
