I'm using latest Openvix on ET8500 and the EPG is oversized and extends beyond the size of tv screen, so can not see channel or picons?

What settings do I need to adjust as for other mediadevices I use its perfect and have no issues.

Turn off overscan on your tv, or if this isn't possible resize gui in setting menu.

Theres no overscan option on tv that I know off. So by re-adjusting the gui where can I find this under settings on the ET8500 box, I have tried to change font size, length and width of EPG under its settinsg but no effect?

Before going down the route of adjusting the guy, let's make sure your tv hasn't got a way of disabling overscan.
What make and model tv do you have?

Issue has nothing to do with EPG, it is user interface not fitting properly owing to overscan.

Main Menu/Setup/System/user interface/position setup

Your TV will probably have an over-scan option but possibly not called over scan. On my Samsung TV the setting is under Picture Options and the off is called 'Just Scan' and the over scan is called Wide Zoom.

What is your TV model? If known someone may look at the online manual to see what the option may be called.

Probably.....
Page 56 of the e-manual

Fitting the picture to the screen
Settings -> Picture -> Picture Size -> Fit to Screen

Possibly also make sure that your box is outputting 1080i/p. main menu -> setup -> system - av settings -> mode = 1080i

Done that but all set to 1080p but 2160p 25fps as 2160p 25hz etc and so on.

Its improved things abit but can not see picons even though it was selected

I suspect that you have installed/added picons for a different provider.

Which ones did you add/install?
How did you add/install them?

I did not add anything that I know off, if came with the latest openvix build , I received my box last Friday. All my EPG shows is columns and rows with channel /programme text a long a time line no graphic images. If I click on a channel I can see a preview box on top corner that shows whats currently on that channel.

My EPG is for DVB T2

No picons are installed by default, you have to add/install them yourself.

This is is one way of doing so.
If the following instructions do not make sense/are poorly phrased, please say so at which stage they lose you. Your feedback will be good as these may make their way into a guide.

1. Installl Ocram Picon feeds.

Exit the plugin menu completely and return to TV mode.

2. Install picons
Menu > Plugins > Green (download plugins) > Scroll down to picons and expand > Scroll to your chosen one (here it is dark on blue, use SNP verion)

During the last step after downloading to internal flash, I get messages - execution process:
the many series of messages saying -warning when executing archive entry etc then can't create ?
