I would like my vu+ Duo2 to go automatically into deep standby after having been 10 hours in standby. In Timers/PowerTimers I have added a Auto Deep Standby Timer with Timer type=auto deep timer ; Only active in standby=Yes ; Sleep delay= 300; Repeated = Yes.

Unfortunately the Sleep delay is limited to 300 min max which corresponds to 5 hours. Is there there any trick to increase the delay to 600 min or more, or is there a better way to implement the referred operation? Thanks in advance for any help.

So you could set an AutoStandby for 300mins then the AutDeepStandby for 300mins only when in Standby.
Result would be a 10 hour AutoDeepStandby,.

Thanks a lot. I've set the power timer as advised by you - will follow up the result. By curiosity, how would you implement AutoDeepStandby after 11 h of Standby, and do you by chance know the reason why sleep delay is limited to 300min.

... do you by chance know the reason why sleep delay is limited to 300min.
Probably just because it has to be limited to something and that seemed to be a reasonable value.

The timer gets reset on every keypress, so this is 5 hours of you not interacting with the box. I'm not really sure why you would want longer.

In Black Hole I had corresponding functionality with 12 h or longer sleep delays. Technically there should be no reason to limit the delay to 300 min .

I need 10 h or preferably longer delays to avoid long booting times in the morning when switching the TV on, normally at 7-9am. The sat receiver with max 5/10 h is in deep standby when in the previous evening I have switched TV off at 9-11pm or earlier, which is quite usual. On the other hand, in the evening the TV is again in deep standby with long booting time if I start to watch TV after 7-9 pm, also happens quite often.

I would like to avoid deep standby and long booting times when watching TV in regular times every morning and evening. However, the sat receiver should go to deep standby if either morning or evening sessions is skipped since it means that I am probably going to be away longer time. Unfortunately, currently available sleep delays do not enable this.

Why not use a powertimer to wake the box up 10 minutes before you usually start watching tv?

Thanks, during the week days your solution would work OK. During the weekend, in the evenings and during the holidays it may or may not work since the watching times are irregular.
Of course I could avoid long booting times by not using deep standby at all, but I thought deep standby is a good and easy way to save few watt hours and indeed it would be if the sleep delay could be set longer.

I'm wondering if there is a point in the code where the sleep delay max 300 could be changed for example to max 900 (by the users) ?

I'd just put up with "long" boot times then, is a couple of minutes really too long to wait?
