hi,i will install the newest driver ,but i can´t.
the newest driver supports PIP and more.

pls help!!

the newest driver is for official image 5.5 and it supports still image pip only

It's not true PIP, but will be good enough to know when an ad break has finished.

and how can i install? this was my question.

The files go here just over-write the old ones

/lib/modules/2.6.18-7.3/extra/

If you are updating the VIX duo image use the files

mbox-dvb-modules-bm750-2.6.18-7.3-4.4.3-20110114.tar.gz

Warning always back up you image first

i can´t overwrite, this is my problem.and rename also not allowed

ftp to box and place the file in /tmp/

then telnet to box and type

Code:
cd /tmp
then
Code:
tar -xzvf mbox-dvb-modules-bm750-2.6.18-7.3-4.1.1-20110114.tar.gz -C /
or
Code:
tar -xzvf mbox-dvb-modules-bm750-2.6.18-7.3-4.3.3-20110114.tar.gz -C /
depending on which you have used for your box

i try it with winscp,DCC and telnet.nothing works.can you told me how can i do?

I don't think these drivers are compatible with vix 1.3 image guys...

Sent from my HTC Vision

This was not a good idea... I tried this, and I did make a backup before I FTP'd the files over, which went just fine by the way... The only problem I have now, is that the STB don't boot. It comes to the "marbles", and that's it... It doesn't even read the USB-stick with the backup on, so by now I have no Vu+ to play with.

Any help/good advice what to do next? I can get to it by FTP, it seems, but that's more or less it. :(

Phuh... After x attempts, I finally managed to get it to read the USB, so now I'm back to basic. Should've read the whole thread before I tried this. (pooface's post)

If you can access the box via ftp, then you should be able to go to the /media/usb/imagebackups and take the backup that you made off over ftp, put it on your usb stick, and then restore the backup...
