Hi,

After a recent update to 5.4 image, the delay between switching channels/zapping has become very noticeable. Especially whilst flicking through the rubbish on channels over Xmas/NY, it has become very annoying! Is there any reason for this, or a way to fix it?

Picons on the hard drive by any chance?

no problems here on a H7S

I'm on 5.4.003 and have picons on my HDD and not noticed anything different in zapping

Zapping is quicker when you have picons on flash. You may have permanent timeshift enabled, which means the HDD doesn't have to spin up, so you only have the seek and spin latency. The OP hasn't confirmed if he has picons on HDD. Could also be a different issue.

No - its not a Hisilicon based machine which suffers from the stutter on channel change!

.... just thought this post in the thread my have been relevant.

Nah, its normal. Broadcom based boxes have a 1-2 second black screen on channel switch, Hisilicon 1-2 second slow motion.
