Hi all,
First of all, thanks to everyone making and maintaining OpenVIX and all the programs around it.

I am on 6.0.008 and it constantly shows 10 updates to install.
Even when I do this, after the restart it mentions them again, the same ones.
I went back just now to download the 6.0.008 image-file again, and start from there, but as mentioned in the heading, I DID use the settings restore, as it saves me about 2 hours of time.
But also then it always comes back with the 10 updates to install.
BTW, as the image does work, this is not too big a deal at the moment, but I thought I'd let you know / ask anyway.

If you'd need a log to get more insight, please tell me which one(s).

Thanks in advance, Hans

Thanks Tkr001, but ... unfortunately that came back the same.

So, it connected, checked sources and updated things (?) (see below for a copy of the telnet screen), then restarted the box, but when checking again in Setup - System - Software update - it still shows the 10 Updates.

Thanks ccs.

Will then regularly check to see when 6.0.009 is available as image, and install that.
The opkg upgradable command did not show anything refusing to update for dependencies or similar, so ... patience is a good thing :)

Re. plugins: only installed Foreca weatherforecast and no cards or similar.

Thanks again.

Please post this command and post back the result

opkg update && opkg list-upgradable

Hi abu baniaz,
sorry for only replying now -
As per the request of Tkr001, I had already done that "init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6" and posted the results in my answer from 22/03 - 18:44 hr. and copied here for your convenience:

To try something again, I needed to wait for a day where I did not have any recordings going on, and that has come now.
So, in a "last ditch attempt" to see if it were my Plugins, or downloaded image of 6.0.008 leading to the "error", I downloaded the 6.0.008 image again just now, through the Image downloader in OpenVix.
Then installed that, did not restore anything, and only gave the settings for the TV and LAN network, but did not set up any LNB's or any other settings.
I then went directly to Software Update, saw "my" now infamous 10 Updates to do and ran that.
After the box restarted and I checked Software Update again, those 10 updates were still / again there.

So, now "given up" to get this 008 version corrected regarding it's update indication. Once 009 is available, I'll install that, and expect this to have gone away :)

No worries though, 008 works fine for me (except the IMDb-part), just that update message is ... let's say ... irritating, so will switch the check OFF.

Thanks all for your replies and help

.

I've just flashed 6.0.008/Ultimo4K that I downloaded about a month ago - no settings/plugins restored and no updates are showing.

I've even downloaded 008 again, and still no updates showing.

Running the command I said won't interrupt anything the box is doing. It will just provide a list of packages it can update. Please re-read my earlier post to avoid confusion.

Most likely @LbCwby has updated to 6.0.008 rather than flashing 6.0.008.

... not quite, post #6 asked for opkg update && opkg list-upgradable

 SpecSavers here I come.
Sorry abu baniaz, and thank you ccs for reminding me to read what it said, and not what I thought it said.

Here it is:

..... that looks like there's nothing "upgradable".

What does this screen look like?

...cheers, I just wondered what the feeds status was.

Please attach (do not paste) the file called ipkgupgrade.log It will be located in /home/root

Ehm, abu baniaz ... that log does not exist in that location (nor anywhere else either: I had Filezilla search from /).

And the mystery continues :) :(
