ViX Team ET9000 Image v2.1 - 05/03/2011

Well, I was very excited about this...
I've been using Open PLI until now...
You should know that I just bought the ET9000 about a week ago, so not much experience in this field with Enigma II.
So, I have flashed VIX image on the ET 9000, it seemed completing the process, but it was just showing that image in the background LOADING ENIGMA II

I could go through the Wizard and set it up just like Open PLI previously, it found about 3450 channels on three satellites (9deg, 13 deg and 28deg), but it won't show any channels.
A message appears suggesting to check tuner settings, but I cannot see any problem with tuner settings...
I think the problem is somewhere in the beginning of setup as it never completes loading...

Maybe I had to remove all cards (Sky and Digi TV) as well as my Dragon CAM for the time of flashing... ?

hmm, never had this issue, are you loading any channel pre-made channel settings ?, if not if i recall correctly the channel list opens in favourites, but as you have not uploaded/setup any it will be blank, press green then go to SATELLITES. choose your sat you want to see the channels for then select a channel.

i would recomend instaling one of the premade channel settings, go back to the main Enigma2 screen (ie come out of everything) press and hold BLUE then press GREEN, then f channels setting and choose one to install.

try that.

One more thing to mention is that I found the menu text very small. We've got a 26" TV and sometimes it was difficult for me to read it...I guess all the developers have 40" TVs :)
I'd appreciate any help.

i have a 50" lol, i'll see about adding option to increase the font size as an option.

andy.

I have a 37" and can just about read everything ok...

I would recommend maybe installing one of the sd skins, as the font size on them is quite large. Altho I dunno how this would look on your hd tv, lol

Whats with the bold print do you think people cant read??

I did not say that, please do not analyze what people do.

In future please use standard fonts.

To anser your question the ET9000 does not use NFI format.

Thank you advise me politely.
I understand from your words that the multi-boot is not possible with ET-9000

Note:
Completed magnificence of the receiver with this version featured
Thank you.

hey,

what is the command in keymap.xml mapto= to start Multiepg?

thx&greetz

press short blue button
go to VIX menu

go to settings

change EPG BUTTON MODE to SHOW MULTI EPG

yes i know that.

but i want to have VIXEpg on Guid button and for up/down MultiEpg.
thats why i need the commands for directly access.

if i use that: <key id="KEY_EPG" mapto="showEventInfo" flags="m" />
i get that Epg where i set in Vix Settings how you explain.

i need the directly command for Multiepg to map that on Up/Down buttons.

installing order

Tomorrow i will get my ET 9000 ;-)
I'm impressed of the VIX image description and will install this to the ct.
There is a bootloader update, frontprocessor update, ... What is the correct order of installing?

a) Backup of existing image
How can I backup the whole original image?
b) Installing the bootloader update
c) Installing the VIX image (is the frontprocessor update included in the VIX image)
d) Installing the cccam 2.2.1 manually for my S02 card
Will be cccam be started automatically after installing?

Thanks for your help.

a) Do you really need to backup the existing image? This will just be the stock image that you can download from clarketech site...
b) This is included in ViX image.
c) Just install via usb. Front processor update is included in image. For backups in ViX image, use ViX Image Manager. Press blue button, go to ViX menu, choose image manager, and green to create a new backup.
d) Yes, install manually. Transfer the ipkg in to the /tmp folder, and run the IPK installer from ViX Menu. Once you have installed cccam, you will need to create a cfg file for it. You can then start cccam by going to the softcam menu (blue, softcam manager). Press green to startup cccam, and then blue to enable autostart, so it will start when you boot the box...

Thanks for your fast reply.
a) if the image I can download is the same as on my box, than I do not need a backup? Would there be a tool to do this?
b, c) great. So I only have to install the VIX image.
d) What do you mean with "create a cfg file"? Do I have to create this manually with an editor or is this done by pressing green and blue?

Should I format the harddisk to use with the ct 9000 with EXT3 or would you suggest another filesystem?

What Poo is saying if you want to backup the stock image, there is no point as its the same as on the clarktech website - just download that and keep it safe.
No configuration file is included in the softcam, just open up any text editor and create and save the document as CCCAM.CFG and FTP to your box. If you are using a legitimate card you will need to enter boxkey etc in the CFG file before ftping it.
If you do not have your own card, thats all we can discuss.

ok, thanks.
On clarke techn site, I found the file "24-11-final.rar" named original image. So I do no further backup.

S02 card/CCCam.cfg
At first, this is a card I pay for.
I have to find out what I should write in the file. And I will have to do this until Tuesday evening,
because I want to watch a soccer game that comes on an HD station and my (old) dbox2 will not show me this :-)

You may not even need to edit the cccam.cfg file to get it working... do a search and download the original cccam 2.2.1 package. This has the full cfg file included, and u can see all the different options, and whether u need to edit to fit your bill...

have you downgraded the drivers, if so that why. the latest enigma2 needs the latests drivers. we know that there is an issue with hotbird, we are waiting for CT to fix the problem with them.

if not please do software update.

Yes i have downgraded the drivers via FTP, but noting to do, the bug persists.

have flashed another one with last vix image, and upgraded pageks in telnet without upgrade that module! all works fine !
waiting for new drivers,

Regards

as i said, if you are fully upto date with the online updates, and have since manually downgraded the drivers back to the feb release. the movie playback WILL be broken, as the latest online updates requires the latest drivers. for now just re-flash 2.1 but DO NOT run a software update.

note:
the the driver bug ONLY seems to be effecting 13.0 Dec East (HotBird) HD channels, so if you do not have access to it or just do use HD channels on hotbird then you can run a software update.
