Which method did you you use to flash the box?

What now is the failure? Not booting up or something else? Booting up but something else not working, or something you expect to see has gone missing?

Was there anything unusual during the flashing procedure such as maybe switching off the power?

It's almost impossible to brick a box so don't panic at this stage. There is more than one way to update a box and one method will probably get you working again. Please post back with answers.

If you are trying the USB-stick method, the stick has to be formatted as FAT32, but I have found that recent images are actually too big to be flashed by USB stick anyway. I couldn't get it to work on my (similar) Gigablue UHD UE 4K. I googled around and found that it was a size issue.

There is a 'rescue' mode you can use instead, where you can flash it from the browser of another device on your network, such as a Windows PC. This works fine with recent images.

To use rescue mode, make sure the box has a wired (not wi-fi) network connection, then switch on the power at the back whilst pressing the front-panel menu button. The LCD should say "enter setup?" and a number will count down. Keep pressing the menu button the whole time until it says it's entering setup. Then it will give an IP address to enter into your browser on your PC. On your PC you can then flash the firmware over your network.

NB: I didn't know about this rescue method when I needed to re-flash recently, after a boot-loop issue, so I ended up using an old image from years ago that was still on my PC! I put that on a USB stick, and it flashed OK because it was small. Then I was able to flash the latest one via the menus.

Too big? They are only around 150M bytes to be fitted on a 2+G byte USB stick?

Too big——-> depends on the box, some older boxes also have bootloader issues

The flashing process starts OK but never completes.
Nothing to do with the size of the stick itself.

That is strange because Twol uses that box and hasn't reported that problem... and also no one else on the forum reports it... so I would take a look at your USB device.

and tried that to install from usb?

All the usb i use for flashing were 8gb and no bigger , Kingston , Cruzer and Integral and no issues.

When starting off many would not flash the box but all these did.

Thank you everyone for your help and support, finally I have succeeded in flashing my Gigablue Quad 4K Pro with the latest openvix image 6.7 using the Rescue Mode that was recommended in the post. Have a great day guys

No I have not done that update of the rescue loader.
The stick I use is an 8GB Sandisk one formatted to FAT32.
It works fine with the older images, like the one from a few years ago that I used to get my box going again (before I knew about the rescue loader).
I tried flashing from USB with 6.6 (the latest at the time, plus a few earlier builds of 6.6) and it simply would not work, it started to update but would never finish. I tried many times.
Then I tried 6.5 and still no joy.
Then I googled around, and found that little nugget of info elsewhere about not being able to flash the latest images from USB as they are too big.
So I found 5.3.027 lurking on my PC and that flashed straight in with no issues via the same USB stick. Then I used the menus to flash 6.6 in.
Had I known then about the rescue mode of course I would have just done that. When I did find out about it I flashed that way as well to check it worked with the newer images and it did.

Edit: It was a few months ago so I can't really remember, but it may have been this post below. I know it's a different (older) box anyway, but it gave me the idea to try a smaller image, that was the important thing.
