i know theres a thread on it somewhere regarding online updates not working but im buggered if i can find the solution,

basically when i try to update via the menu it comes up as no updates available.

any ideas?

cheers,h.

just had a look and it has 192.168.1.1 which is the start of the range my router assigns.

what should be in there, if it makes any difference im on virgin,

thatnks for the quick reply,h.

still comes up downloading and the finishes with downloaded 0 updates.

i did update it when i first installed vix and im sure it worked fine?

trying plugin manager too and it stops on searching for available updates.please wait.

nah, still finding 0 updates?

what i am trying to find is vi a the plugins menu.

in plugins - settings theres loads of motorised settings , henksat , vhannibal etc , but all are way out of date, im assuming that there are newer on the server, some date back to last year for the newest versions!

if you look at the forums here under engima 2 settings you can find all those motorised settings here

ok, when i rebooted , went back into nameserver settings again and they have changed back to the original 192.168.1.1?

yeah , im fine with that and have updated with dbedit manually, i just need the nameserver prob sorting and was using the settings thing as an example.

aah, well the last few times people have had that problem, manually assigning the nameservers to their ISP's instead of their routers got them working. what router do you have?

I am also getting 0 update, but I am assuming this is due to the fact that there has not been any updates recently.

when was the last software update?

I had exactly same problem tried all suggestions and nothing worked, so i just backed up my settings and downloaded a new copy of the image and installed that, then restored the settings and then did an online update and it worked.

Last update was 20/02/2011

So this issue is only for those who have just installed Vix 2 and need the updates. For the rest a 0 download message is perfectly normal, as there are no new updates to install!
