permanent timeshift plugin

the timeshift function works nicely.. but the functionality is pretty limited. that's why i'm asking whether there is a permanent timeshift plugin that let's me define a couple of channels that record permanently, allows to jump to the start of events, or continues to save an event till the end when i decide to go to sleep before the event ends. haven't found one myself.

Permanent timeshift is when timeshift starts automatically on the current channel every time you zap. That is built in.

If you want to record other channels you need to use record (on all images).

would pts work on multiple channels? like, if pts wouldn't be stopped on channel change, could it start on a second channel in parallel?

No. As @Huevos said timeshift is only for current channel. Not for not playing channels. There is no plugin that can do what you are asking. Besides in most cases is not even possible depending on the channel frequencies.

yes, it depends on the tuner. with fbc tuner there should not be problems. obviously the timeshift code would have to support multiple sets of timeshift files. anyway, thanks for the info.

Not always is possible multiple channels even with fbc tuner...
You must have 2 separate dishes to achieve this.
Timeshift is iptv feature. Not suitable for satellite...
As i said no such plugin exists...

why??? if you use only one satellite and fbc tuner... timeshift is just another form of a recording. so you could easily record two or more channels all day long with one dish.

Because you can receive at same time only frequencies from one quadrant even with fbc tuner.
So in most cases max 4 transponder. So. Its limited anyway.
Other option is to use unicable lnb then you can tune max 8 transponders.
But it depends on the lnb and hardware. Also if channels are encrypted and you use ci module then in most cases you can receive only one channel at a time.
So is not plug and play and you can not use the timeshift on all channels in a satellite.
As i said timeshift is not meant to be used satellite channels. And no one is going to make a plugin for a non standard feature.
If you want this you should use simple recording that you can start on a timer or manually. But limitations above still apply...
