Ubuntu 26.04 LTS and OpenViX image builds

Downloaded Ubuntu 26.04 LTS and installed on 24th April on my recently installed build PC (last February).
Clean install on a dual boot system(Windows 11/Ubuntu 24.04) was painless and system booted up after install (unlike Ubuntu 24.04 where I spend a day getting correct Nvidia drivers installed.
Took about another 2 hours installing all my normal programs(dropbox, gedit, filezilla etc etc) and then cloning my tailored OE-A 6.0 build system onto a disk.

Then ran a clean OE-A 6.0 OpenViX build (... but no QT, stalker etc) and everything went absolutely perfectly.
(Note - I have still to get one of the QT modules to build on OE-A 6.0 - so normally build without QT - as I don't use anything dependent on QT)

Early days, but so far for me Ubuntu 26.04 is probably best version I have used - easy install, easy upgrade, runs the image builds

Will be interesting how ithe upgrade goes on your 24.04 image ? - I just installed a clean new 26.04 image

I'm currently on 25.10 everywhere.
I do fresh installs of the LTS releases, then update through the 3 intermediate ones, so this will be an install from the iso image.

And I need to start with a fresh .config this time, too. Which will be the first time in many years.

python3-cryptography-vectors fails with:

well have run arm(Vu+, Gigablue, Dreambox), hisilicon(gbtrio4K, h9) and Mips (Xtrend ET7500) and all build... with that ipk (python3-cryptography_46.0.5-r0)

You can work around that (I know it is not a proper solution). Modify the patch in ./<build-env>/openembedded-core/meta/recipes-devtools/python/python3-cryptography-vectors/0001-bump-uv_build-to-0.10.0-14271.patch so the version corresponds.

I was thinking of doing that.

Oddly, there are two patches in that directory - one bumps the upper limit to 0.10.0 and the other raises that to 0.11.0

python/python3-cryptography is fixed in 6.9.000.008, which has, today, built cleanly for an et8000 on 26.04.
