How often does your ViX become unresponsive where you need to restart using the power switch at the back?

Never had a problem with the VIX images i have helped 5 family members set up there Duo/Solo with no problems

Every other day, but only when I'm playing with settings or flicking to fast. I get the vix logo spinning and no response from remote.

Normal use never, experimenting than some times.

never restart unless there updates and necessary restart needs to be done, but i dont manually restart. i have a daily gui restart set though for 5am in the morning but nothing else other than that

Normal use not very often but when messing about channel hopping and in and out of menus it can be more frequent. I've found the VIX images more stable than others I have tried though. I've found a really useful telnet app for the iphone, easy and quick way to reboot box when unresponsive if lappy isn't fired up. It's called Telnet Lite, nice little app.

I'm on vix 2.1.4 at the moment ant compared to vix's earlier 1 series images particularly 1.3 I find hanging, Spinning vix and general unresponsiveness much more common.
That said, I still like the vix image, just that the regular slowdowns are a pain!(And thats with picons and EPG and Timeshift on a sandisk Cruzer USB, No HDD use apart from recordings)
Tho I may jump to the new BH image soon as from what I've heard stability and DTT compatability are v.good.

Perhaps you should look at your setup, I've not had any issues with spinning vix, even in beta testing. I'd suggest do a fresh re-flash and setup all your setting from scratch, dont restore backup settings then see how you get on.

Sic, I've done that a few times over the last few weeks and started from scratch re: settings totally new xml, fresh scan and no imported settings.
Initially I though it could have been a Skins issue as I was using IrishChris Retro(Great Skin BTW) and figured it might be a conflict of some kind, even now with a fully clean install, default HD skin and no added plugins to the default install I still get spinning vix a few times a day and occasional patchy remote responsiveness.
Still though the overall quality and usability of the image outweighs the intermittent issues for me, so I can live with those foibles ;)

same happening for me. since the latest VIX my box is also alot slower then before. Much more spinning VIX logos. EPG not working correctly anymore. Also almost 3/4 of my DVD's who played wel with previous versions are now not playing anymore. Also started from scratch with setup but nothing helps.
shame because i love the VIX image. I will try the new VTI image and see if it is better or not.
Greetz

reason i manually restart is because i usually have screwed up a certain configuration. example, set up mgcamd as client to oscam but it went daft on me. not a vix issue, but still trying to figure

once a month I voted as I've had to use the power on/of button once only with this latest firmware, which was installed the day AB confirmed the green screen bug was ironed out.

only time I ever use the power on/of button is for an image reflash.
