Project valerie and VIX image 2.2.110

Ok, so i have a clean installation and have installed valerie from the plugins section. I have selected a folder with only one moviefile in it from settings (blue button). I hit the green button to start syncronizing. The following happens...

Thread running
Loading config

...and nothing else. Is there anything i have missed, any file that need to be tweaked? Hitting the abort button resultes in endlesly "Aborting sync! Saving and cleaning up!" Any ideas on what it could be?

I have the impression that not many people are using Valerie, so it might be difficult to get a good answer. Did you try asking Valerie directly?

Valerie says, use the original files from their website. But they won't work with VIX. I have read somewhere on this forum that valerie installed from the plugin/extensions is specially tweaked for VIX.

Do you have any suggestion on other mediaservers that I could use with VIX?

Sorry: I don't know what you mean with "mediaserver". Valerie is just a GUI for existing functionality (with some extras, such as looking for coverart/descriptions, which is more or less the same as IMBd does).

Exactly as you describe it, a GUI that collects information about my mediafiles on NAS and other disks and then presents the result in a proper and stylish way.

there isnt another such thing that works as well as project valerie. i suggest just waiting till 2.3 is released and then try project valerie as a couple of us have it on our box and works pretty good.

Hi mate

A work around for me works but you cant use the auto update as this will crash the receiver

I working using PV v984 right now unzip the file in your pc the using FTP prog go to this location in your image file in the reciever

/user/lib/enigma2/python/plugins/extensions

If you have project Valerie installed 2 folders and remove them and insert the two new project valerie files you downloaded contained in the file then simply come back out and reboot the receiver then you can go back into project valerie scroll down to setup and check its does not auto update and that it knows the location of your disk drive i.e /Hdd/Movies then you can quick sync to allow project valerie to search your hard disk drive for the movies and programes you may have recorded.
