Blackhole - Cant install any Softcams! :(

After doing multiple re installations and even going back to previous versions, i am really struggling with this.

Ive downloaded several softcams i like to to use. I have just installed the latest blackhole 1.7.9 software. Having setup the box i hit the green and yellow button and manually install the IPK packages i have transferred onto the stb. The proces runs and installs to root, as it always has. I then hit the blue button from the main screen and for some silly reason where there used to be multiple cams install so i can start the one i wish to use, there is only the default cam! If i try to install a different cam the box tells me the previous file is installed. So 1) where the hell is it installed, 2) how do i select it, and 3) why does it not show up in blackholes usual blue panel!

Arrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh!

Please help

If i remember rightly i changed from vix years back because the image didnt have the drivers for my wireless dongle.... So i need this one sorting out

ViX 3.0 supports many wireless dongle now.

The DUO works with ALOT of wifi dongles :thumbsup:
At 1st (maybe 18 months ago) it was a bit hit and miss, but my DUO would work with just about any USB WIFI I plugged into it when I last tried one

What WIFI dongle are you using?

Black and orange? I have one of those (working right now as I type on my perants DUO with VIX)

VIX even works with more modern 11n too (you have 11g)

Ok so ive installed and gotten setup. Now im trying to copy across mr misters bouquets and its hanging at lamedb. Really does seem to be operating slow. Menus are going to take some getting used to.

Thats because VIX uses ALL the screen
Problem is your TV setup not VIX

as pointed out you have never had to re-position your OSD as ViX are the only image team to use FULL HD skins, all others use substandard skins that contain buffers to compensate for overscan on your tv. the single best solution is to disable overscan on your tv as this is a tv issue not a image one.

The image didn't have the drivers for my wireless dongle...

You can copy the drivers from the receiver whilst running the current image. If the wifi adapter does not work natively in opnevix, you can paste the drivers into the vix image.

Also post in the suggestion thread with exact details and I'm sure that the driver will be added across all images if it is possible.

Sweet. Got to say the support is second to none. I am experiencing some problems with lagging with trying to use the software update and VuCC to but just getting all of this communication wants me to persevere thanks for everything so far
