Ok forgive me, this is my first ever post for help because in almost the year that I have had my Vu solo 2 I haven't needed any.The problem all started this afternoon. We had a power outage less than 5 mins and power was back on. ( watching TV while it happened ) When router came back online and we turned back on tv I recieved the error timeshift not available. I tried changing the channel and kept recieving tuner lock error message. This happened with all channels,I tried quite a few from differrrent bouquets to no avail. So I figured ok,let me try to a service scan for channels and when ever I do that I get this " 0 channels found ". For some reason I can't seem to lock onto 28.2E satellite any longer and I don't know why... Below I will describe everything I have done with various scans and describe my tuner config. I am leaning toward thinking that either sky tv service is down in my estate or my LNB has gone kaput.

With that being said here lies another issue,if it is indeed my LNB I can not access my satellite because it is 4 stories up on the roof of our townhouse. I believe this is the location because for the life of me, since we moved here over a year I can not see it at the front of the house or anywhere along the back patio . If I have to get an engineer out here to look at the satellite, who do I call and how to I go about it since I am not a current sky customer ( was a customer and still do have a sky HD receiver but I don't see how that helps me. ?

steps for service searching taken :
Auto Scan - 0 channels
Blind Scan - 0 channels
Manual scan - o channels

I have also removed the power cord and back of box and reconnected , checked coxial cables although I don't have two other ones to test if the coxial cables mysteriously went bad somehow during the outage. I am seriously at a loss I will try purchasing some more coxial cables tomorrow and test and update if resolved.

One last thing I dusted off my SKY HD reciever in our garage to connect to see if I could get a signal .( lock onto satellite ) recieved the blue box " For your information your SKY HD box isn't getting a satellite signal .

Any help would be greatly welcome ,thanks in advance and sorry if I posted to much information but wanted to give you more than not enough and describe everything I have done.

Is it your own dish on the roof or is it shared between all tenants? (What's known as a communal system). If it is communal it stands a chance the power cut has knocked it out. You'll have to get the buildings landlord to get someone in.

You could also go knock on your neighbours doors and ask if they are affected.

It is entirely possible with the electrical storms the other day your lnb has gone caput, either been hit or suffered a power surge when the electric has tripped back on.
Although it is possible the dish might have moved slightly if there has been high wind.
Either way i think you need to get the rope and ladder out.

Update to My Issue :

So I went to speak with various neighbors and TK4 you are indeed correct,it appears I am on a communal system. One of my neighbors pointed to a a black box near the enterance to my section in the estate and said if you have a look in that black box you will see all the lights inside solid RED indicating a fault. Another told me they spoke to sky on the phone for two hrs and no one would come to her place till tuesday to have a look at the problem. I will just have to wait till Wendesday and hope the issue is resolved.

Thanks for the responses you two I really appreciate the suggestions !

If it's communal, Sky won't touch it, you'll need to contact the people who installed the system. Do you have a building landlord or maintenance company that looks after the building? They will need to get someone in to look at it.

This black box with all the lights red, you could try resetting it by turning the power off to it, then back on.

I agree with a communal system. If you pay rent it's the landlords responsibility. If you pay a fee for communal facilities (hall way lighting, lobby maintenance, your share of cutting the grass etc.) then the company that provide the maintenance probably will be responsible. It's not necessarily something you can do yourself. There will be one dish and a whole lot of distribution electronics with some safety aspects such as earth bonding if equipment is replaced.

So today Finally got a lock on satellite, whooohooo. 5 days with no TV ,you never realise how much you miss your shows when its out that long.

Anyway final update :

Yes was a communal system, Mgmt company running estate finally got an engineer out . I spoke to the engineer and he said that the LNB on the dish feeding the communal system had gone bad and needed to be changed.
