You really need to upgrade to 2.4 which has all the latest drivers and is much more stable, 2.3 is no longer supported.

I have not went to 2.4, to much hassle.

No disrespect or offence intended but we no longer support nor supply updates to the 2.3 series image, we are currently on the ViX 2.4 Series image so unless you tell us what version your using when you ask for help we are always going to assume you are using the latest Image. As for the upgrade being too much hassle, why not just try it ?.

ok fellas i'll upgrade, do i just download file onto usb, plug usb into box and let it works its magic, its reinstalling some of the stuff i have thats the pain remembering where to put files etc.

Yes just flash as you would any other Image, make sure to backup any config files etc first as you can NOT use a settings backup from a earlier image without causing major problems for your self.

And best thing to do would be to take a full image backup, so that if worst comes to worst, and you have problems installing, you can always revert back to previous image (of course having the same problem, but at least you can still watch tv ;))!

ok now upgraded image to 2.4, trying to install a package, copy to tmp folder but when i go to install local extension nothing shows

OK guys all installed, when i scan the network it now find the nas, I hit ok on it and just have to put in login details, done that, but still got an x beside it and wont connect, using nfs on synology 111. help!!!!!!!!!

now working, when i done the network browser it didnt connect but later on i pressed the record button and there was my nas, all working on new image and new image seems more stable.

cheers
