Hi guys.
Just installed Vix V2.0. All went smooth when flashing
FTP`ed the cccam mispel file to tmp folder and then went to remote on VU :

Menu >
Set Up >
Vix >
IPK Installer

And the box is totally blank. Nothing to highlight or to install..

Any suggestions please.. ?

Hi.. Sorry.. managed to get it to load in the ipk installer menu.. and installed it..

Now i cant find the cam in the softcam set up..

Help please guys.. ??

Nope.. Still nothing..

Everything in softcam list is blank..

Nothing to Start/Restart or autostart.. Nothing..

Once i got in softcam set up the words : Please wait while searching for sofcams.. But it just hung for 25 mins..

Guys.. When i install via the ipk manager.. After i install here.. is it supposed to stay there in the ipk manager.. to install again.. or should that disapear.. ??

Also.. Still nothing in softcam management to start or restart or auto start..

You should do a hard reset after installing cams

and have you added your file to etc?

Had to install it differently..

Had to us DCC and then go into the tools tab > IPKG Packages > Then Click on Upload packages.

Then i had CCam in my softcam menu in Vix..

Hope this helps someone else having the same problem..

you need to make sure they are in usr/softcam and chmoded to 755

(credit silver fox)

So move them from /bin

Can anyone give a simple explanation as to how install ccam.
Why the bloody hell could they not have just put in a code to open the softcams I don't know.
I love the new image but I can't get the ccam working after loading the file to the box by fxhflash.
I think I will just roll back to the old image :-(.

easiest way in my experience.
1) ftp your preferred CCCam to /usr/softcam & chmod to 755
2) ftp your CCcam.cfg to /etc & chmod to 755
3) reboot.

Fair enough, but why can't there be a 4 digit code to open the soft cams like blade spiderboxes etc?

Why can they just make a 4 digit code to access the siftcams like the blade spiderboxes etc.

Do as per post 1 in this thread, and hard reboot, this procedure is true of any softcam, or plugin

regarding "codes" I assume you mean the convieniance of downloadable files, auto configged by the unit, aside from the fact, that most image providers are now taking the same stance, due to apparent changes of law, pressure, its in every ones interest, to learn how to get the unit, to do whats needed, by the end user

images written for the various linux units, are really only fta images in the main

Did this your way as regards number 1 option and no joy, number 2 option i know already.
Ftp to Tmp as stated in other thread, goto vix in menu then ipk installer, it will install, think there was an option to reboot and i did.
Then went to blue button selected my cccam, job done

Download cccam from here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?5921-Cams-for-ViX-Team-images
You need the file enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.2_1.0-r0_mipsel.ipk
After downloading it ftp it to TMP folder on the vu and than press blue button on remote>VIX.IPK INSTALLER or it might say manual.
rest you should know or google
