[VU+ Ultimo] Channel selection problem during record

I have a problem with recording on my Vu+ Ultimo (set up as a single tuner using a 4-way Diseqc switch for 4 satellites) - I can set a program to record via the EPG (or manually) and if the program is due to start whilst watching something else, it locks up the box with just the spinning VIX logo in the corner. For example if watching STV on 28.2E and the program is due to start on RTL on 19.2E, it won't change to the recording channel and it just locks the box, needing a full hard reset by switching off at the wall.
The same thing happens if using the EPG search function - selecting a channel to watch from the listing just locks everything up.
These faults weren't present using BlackHole image but has been present with all VIX images i've tried......

Any suggestions as to what the problem might be??

1- 4 sat's: is this issue only there when the tuner has to change satellite?
2- Can all services be viewed without issue when no recording is imminent?
3- How is tuner selection set? Auto or...?
4- Only one tuner has been configured; the other tuners are set to not-configured?

Please also provide debug logs. Activate in log manager, reboot box and make sure to attach a log from a period in which this has happened.

Hi and thanks for your reply,
I'll answer your questions in order.....

1, The problem is present even if the scheduled program is on the same satellite
2, All services and satellites can be viewed normally. The receiver will change satellites and channels with no issues. Even if there is a recording timer set in advance, everything will work fine until the recording starts (or is supposed to start). I seem to recall though that it will do timer recordings if the box is in standby and not being used.
3, Tuner selection is set to Auto
4, The second tuner is set as Not Configured

All settings on the box are the same as when using Black Hole image and everything worked fine then.

As for the logs, i don't think it is set to create logs automatically - I'll have to look into that.......

Interesting idea. I'm not sure about the channel list corruption - i rescanned the satellites after loading VIX rather than using a channel list back-up. It has done this from day 1 before i even edited the lists. I do use Dreambox Edit however (latest one i could find).
I'll remove all the services again and rescan and give it another try..........

Hi Rob,

I also had no problems during normal watching TV - the problems were only there after starting a recording.

An attempt it's at least worth, may be he has luck and it helps ...

Hello Had same type of issue on my VU+ solo, the last stable working img for me was Apollo 064, but now on build 106, all fine again. Made a post in solo forum, and also attached a crasch log there, I am not sure if it is same thing, but looks familiar. Everything is OK from 106, from 64 up to 100 I had same issue. Hope you find a solution soon. W.

I find solution (i think ). Remove alternatives from channel list! --> work again.

I did,n test those channels are they working or not. I just remove all alternatives channels from my favorite (tv) list and test then to record something. Channel list works great, no spinner
