[ViX_Misc] Cloud ibox 4 brick

Hi

My father in law's ibox 4 running openvix developed problems and a friend of the family reflashed it.

Now the box does not turn on at all. I am a computer technician so am reasonably aware of operating systems etc.

Would anyone be able or indeed willing to explain to me how to resurrect this unit please?

See www.openvix.co.uk for officially supported receivers, you where sold a clone and mis-lead into it having Openvix support, which it does not.

I'm sorry for this but how do you know it's a clone? To the best of my knowledge, my father in law wouldn't buy anything dodgy.

I just did some more research and believe that ANY ibox 4 is a clone as the 4 was never released by the manufacturers because of the number of clones on the market.
Am I correct in this please? If so, please accept my apologies for having bothered you all.
Also, it may be impractical but a warning somewhere in the header of your pages to the effect that you do not support Cloud Ibox 4 might save us all some time and effort.

yes all icloud branded receivers are clones as are zgemma branded receivers, ViX only support genuine receivers and only those as listed on www.openvix.co.uk

just to make it clear ALL and i do mean ALL icloud receivers including the 1,2 and 3 are clones, there is no such thing as a genuine E2 receiver from this or any other chinese manufacturer, and certainly no ViX support for any.

please dont think were trying to chase you away from the forum because thats not the case but it would be impractical for us to list all the various clone receivers that we don't support. unfortunately ViX has pretty much become too popular and as a result there are a lot of people and companies out there cashing in on the ViX name and reputation for support by selling these counterfeit receivers with counterfeit images promising support.

All we can do is reiterate that we will support any genuine receiver regardless of the point of purchase, but we cant and wont support clones, they are illegal and frankly dangerous to have in your house and we want nothing to do with them.
