I have a Solo running Vix 2.3 which has been working fine since Christmas. It's set up as standard with a 2GB Sandisk USB on the rear port which holds the EPG and picons. I don't timeshift or record.

For the past week or so the receiver has been crashing when changing channels or trying to update. I've enabled both logs and debug logs but neither are ever created. When the receiver crashes an error screen is shown with 'sorry an error has occurred, VIX restarting in 10 seconds'. I leave it to restart but an hour later the VIX logo is still spinning on the same error page.

Any ideas?

Same problem here, reflashed a few times. I've given up and gone to 2.2 but can't get my wlan working

Thanks for the replies. I tried creating a backup but it kept showing an error screen.

Think I may try another image for the time being. I've also ordered a few other USB sticks to see how these cope. It's looking like either a USB or kernel problem.

I re-flashed 2.3 and started over using a hitachi 2tb hard drive for epg. I was previously using a 1gb usb flash drive through a powered hub, and I've also not bothered with picons this time.

It seems to be fine so far but I've said that before and it's gone wrong after a bit.

Is it just me or is the solo a bit of a nightmare with crashing on all images? I find VIX the most stable of the lot. Just need to find a way to add network shares that works or doesn't crash.
