I have been quite impressed by my Netgear ReadyNAS Duo which warned me of an impending disk failure and enable me to get the drive replace under warranty before the drive completely failed. The NAS alerted me about the potential failure by sending an email when it powers itself up in the morning. The drive was bought separately from the NAS and was replaced by Seagate.
This has lead me to wonder whether Vix contains anything similar, and if not whether this could be considered for a future enhancement.
