epg on my duo

hi all im looking for a little help please iv had my cross epg working fine on my duo for ages now but iv noticed now that if i use the blue button and select cross epg it used to then say reading channels and then download the epg but now just goes straight to download epg and just hangs and then says importing but once complet still no epg ? any ideas please

Try deleting any instances of the EPG.dat from your system then download it again, make sure that you place enigma into sleep mode prior to deleting the EPG.dat files or they may be overwritten with the older versions from the flash rather that the new downloaded one.

and just to say my epg is stored on an external usb stick i have two sticks 1 for picons and 1 for the epg iv also tryed taking the stick out a wiping it that way any more help would be great please

Are the file paths in the configuarion correct?

Personally, I don't see why you are using two USB sticks. One will be fine.

To place the receiver into sleep mode you need to be able to login via a TELNET session then issue the init 4 command, once the changes have been made you simply issue the init 3 command to reboot enigma.

i dont know if iv done the right thing but i decided to do a fresh install of the system from a memory stick using the latest softwere so i did it and now still just hangs all it says is starting downloader and then nothing elese?

hi pheonix iv done as you said also using the commands you have said init 4 and 3 ect i can tell that i did it correctly as per your instuction as it said in telnet about me deleting the dat files u said about ect but still the problem is the just hangs on starting download and thats it iv tryed updating providers ect but still no joy this ones got me beat buddy the box memory sticks have been tops for over a year now and no problem also iv tyed sellecting hdd as the path and still just hangs? any more sugestions will greatly welcomed

hi m8 iv tryed both a real early one 627 and the latest fro m downloads section also the reviver was up to date before as i allway update the image using onboard facillity

Are You Deleting Both The epg.dat File And The crossepg Folder??? I Was Having A Similar Problem, And That Solved It, As Well As Updating Providers Before Downloading...

Did you do that while Enigma2 was stopped (via the telnet command 'init 4')? Otherwise you can't delete the data, as the are held in RAM.

My thoughts....
Stop using two usb drives. Delete contents from the one you will be using. Start afresh, download latest image (750 at time of posting). Reflash your receiver without restoring settings.
Extreme, but you will be up and running without worrying about something wrong from past data.
