[VU+ Solo2] FTP Setup wont enable

I am trying to connect my computer to my Vu+ Solo2 which is using OpenViX 3.0 808, I am using FlashFXP (I've tried FileZilla and prefer FlashFXP), I have checked that the ip address and password are both correct, the one thing I did see on another post was that FTP Setup needs to be enabled but I have tried to enable it and it will not enable, I can't understand why it isnt working because I have transferred to and from the Vu+ Solo2 lots of times and had no problems before, something has obviously been changed but I can't figure out what. Please help!

What user name and password are you using?

everytime I try and connect it says "Connection Failed (Connection Refused)"

Check the ip address of your box. Maybe changed?

Ive tried this, the ip address changes everyday so i have checked it today and it is the right ip address.

Perhaps a fresh flash may be best thing to do.

Also, if you router has IP reservation, consider using it. That way all your devices will have a fixed IP even though you have dhcp enabled.

Not entirely sure if that will work, for some reason the FTP Setup will not enable, I have just gone into the Network Settings and FTP Setup and tried to enable it and the box crashed.

You do not need to enable ftp setup. It is on by default. Anyway, something is wrong and your receiver should not crash.

You can spend time trying to resolve your issue or just start afresh with no restore.

I checked to see if the FTP Setup was enabled by default and it wasn't, the box crashed again so I have just flashed the box to a previous version when I could FTP and that has sorted it. Thank you for you help, it was becoming really frustrating. Just goes to show how important it is to keep a copy of your image handy!

Try that with the username being root

Thanks mate, Ive sorted it now. I can connect to my box using either no password or vuplus, both allow me to connect.

Try that with the username being root

ViX has no default password.

But be aware: several FTP-clients won't work without a password. So using any 'fake' one will work then.
Or you set a password yourself, which obviously should be used then.

I use FlashFXP and have no issues leaving password blank.
