[TM-TWIN-OE] HDD playback issue

1. HDD access time has been markedly longer in the last few Vix builds on both my TM Twin boxes.

2. On 137, the fast forward function during watching a recorded item now gives about a 2 second freeze every 2 seconds.

3. One box has a nearly empty HDD, recently 'initialised', but shows the same symptoms as the main box with a 1Tb drive 40% full.

4. There was a TM driver issue a few builds ago - has 137 got reverted drivers or a 'fix' from Technomate?

Haven't had any replies - but have done some experimenting! It now appears (on both my TM Twin boxes) that builds after 131 (I.e. with drivers after 22 Jan 2015) all have the same stop/start fast forward issue on playback and sometimes loss of control of the HDD after a pause.
My wife has the Midas touch with any remote control at the best of times and both boxes have had to be rebooted lots of times to get back into them this last few days!
Have now reverted back to build 131, as this is the last image that works OK for me. Will watch with interest to see if anyone else is having problems with TM Twin for builds 132 onwards.
Saw something from Phoenix earlier saying that a complete rebuild of Apollo is in progress - but, as I suspect that this is something to do with Technomate driver problems, not sure if that will incorporate a fix.
Anyone else seen similar playback issues on a TM Twin?

We are looking into this and at the moment it seems to be a driver issue. I have been meaning to test on my TM boxes but not had the chance so far. Don't worry your thread is not being ignored we have a thread going in the dev sections specifically for this.

Apologies Pheonix - didn't mean to imply my thread was being ignored at all, just wanted to figure out what was happening if possible. Anyway, like messing with the boxes every so often!

no worries mate, often times we are so preoccupied with posts in the dev section that we "neglect" those on the public forum, it's not on purpose but we may have several dozen threads on the go each containing several dozen / hundred posts, so we tend to reply there and get caught up as it were.

Any way my post was not meant as a excuse, just to reassure you that this thread has been seen and is being investigated.

I have exactly the same problem on my tm twin oe as well. The skin also goes fuzzy at random times

I can also confirm freezing issues when reverse/fast forward and especially after pausing. I have the new Technomate NANO SE (great little box by the way!)

I am on an older image, but also having issues, most notably with timeshift - fast forwarding and then playing makes it jump right to the beginning, or to another random point in the recording. I though that it was due to fast forwarding at a higher multiple first which was the issue but it's happening at 2 or 4 x too.

Hi Sicilian! Have updated one TM Twin to build 142, leaving the other box on 131. Looks like there is still a TM driver issue in 142, as the original issue I raised in Post #1 of this thread is still present i.e. fast forward on media playback still gives a 2 second freeze at 4x/8x FF and 2 seconds FF alternately.

Box just frozen after a pause and spinner won't let me in after waiting about 5 minutes. Reboot!

Is there something inherent in the current TM driver set that causes the CPU to go nuts and/or the RAM to be totally consumed during media playback generally?

Will give 142 a good try-out today and if necessary, revert to 131 again!

This is only a minor inconvenience, but nonetheless irritating!

Piranha, was 131 the last Firmware you had working properly?

Yup! I have worked backwards from 142, one build at a time and confirm that 131 is the last build that worked well for me!

I also have the same problem on my TM-Twin and have also reverted to build 127 which works fine for me but when going to list to see my recordings it all goes a bit fuzzy but a quick re-boot sorts this, hope this helps
