[VU+ Duo] helios 017 upgrade help needed

Is it possible to upgrade from helios 017 to the latest openvix without losing all my puffins and settings (bouquets, cams, network,etc). How?
Please be gentle and detailed in your response... as I am still learning. I have purposely avoided upgrading because it's all working.. currently

sadly no as the feeds for this image no longer exist, you can make a full image backup using the image manager which I would highly recommend you do, also you can manually backup most of your important files via a FTP session but you will have to reflash the receiver if you want to run a newer image and setup from scratch.

What is the purpose of the full image backup if i have to upgrade and setup from scratch?

It allows you to back the image up exactly as it is rite now so that you can return to it if you want to for what ever reason. it backs every thing up including those all important cam config files that would be lost with a reflash. It's just a precaution so that you always have a working image backup incase something goes wrong.
