I noticed my epg wasn't updating properly a few days ago I have also had a autobouqets timed out error message.
while trying to sort this out with no success I have had a message pop up on a black screen and an auto restart this also happened when trying to set a timer to record a program.
Being the fool I am I looked around on the net and decided I might be best doing a factory reset.
I have done this.
So now my epg wont update and I'm in a right old mess.
I would like the guidance to start this from the start and get it sorted and working.
I am no tech wizard but I can follow instruction.
You will probably ask for crash logs which I have looked for in the location they should be but the file is empty.
I can hear you all sighing and can imagine the eyes rolling but please would someone take the time to help me

I bought the box from world of satellite just before xmas.

Being an international forum the answer may depend on which country you are in and which broadcast service you are attempting to get.

For instance if you are in the UK, has your box got satellite tuners or terrestrial (TV via an aerial or cable) tuners, or a combination of both? If satellite, which satellite?
Are you attempting to get Freesat channels? Freeview channels? Subscribed Sky channels? Subscribed Virgin cable channels? And/or another service?

AutoBouquets does not have a timed out message. I am certain you are using AutoBoquetsMaker instead. CrossEPG Downloader (for OpenTV EPG) and ABM (for Sky 28.2) use the same transponder (TP). If you cannot receive the TP, both those plugins will fail.

How many tuners do you have?
What is your dish/lnb/wiring setup to each tuner?
Is it a shared dish?

If you set your tuner as simple, single, automatic, it will check if it can receive the TP used by ABM for 28.2. If it cannot lock, you will need to establish cause and remedy it. Maybe faulty LNB, dish misalignment, LNB misalignment.

Quick update
I reverted back to 4.2.01
I set up crossepg
and ABM
I was missing the enigma2 mg ipk so I re inserted that into the correct folder and all seems well
I am missing plugins that I have downloaded the skyblue hd plugin for my epg has gone and is not in the skins list to download

4.2.01 is old. You are best doing a usb flash or a couch flash (IM) to 4.2.023. The Blue HD is in the feeds, but better ones available IMO, especially the 1080 skins like iSkin (Dark or Light), YouViX (Blue, Green, Purple or Red), Bello, Confluence etc.
