All changes are on the GIT server. Wouldn't it be easier to check there?

Yes, it sure is. It's really the only way. So please have a look at
Code:
https://github.com/OpenViX/enigma2
and try to find any commit that caused your issue.

Servicerefs starting with 4097:... can now be recorded.
Code for recording 1:... servicerefs was not changed.
IPTV plugins maybe need to be adapted to support recording.

afaik, this didnt make it into apollo/hades images, it was new for 3.2.

That's correct.
This was introduced in July 2015:
1- This feature ONLY records 4097:.... servicerefs (recording of 1:... servicerefs was not changed)
2- Streams which are played back with special plugins most likely cannot be recorded. Plugins need to be adapted for it.
3- All streams which you can watch in E2 should be recordable. If recording don't work, please provide E2 log.

Before IPTV recording was only possible for ts streams (with a service ref 1:0:...).

are those recordings for iptv ts streams still ok?

Do small test:

Bouquets look like:

Why you enabled recording only for 4097 service?

Why you not enable recording for any service?

I know that service 4097 mostly use IPTV providers for rtmp streams, IPTV providers for http streams used service 1.
Old images never worked (not recorded) with rtmp streams (Service 4097) but fine worked with http streams (Service 1)

Too tested old Apollo 090 image:
IPTV recording not support at all:
Service 1 try recording, but with errors like latest 3.2 image:
