Hi,

I've recently purchased a flashed solo2 and wish to install an internal hdd for recording/timeshifting purposes. I've seen youtube and the actual physical installation looks very simple but i want to know what steps are required afterwards to ensure recordings etc are saved to to the newly installed hdd in a specific directory (eg/media/hdd/movie) as you'd expect it to.

Will a brand new 2.5" sata hdd simply plug and play or does it need formatting with directories adding first?

Basically, am i able to do this without having to reflash it again and/or send it back to the person i bought it from? If so, how?

Regards

Rich

Just initialise the disk in the box.
Menu -> Setup -> System -> Storage devices -> Initialisation (If using ViX).

Shut the box down, switch off and then open it up, remove the hdd tray and screw in the hdd, re-affix the hdd tray and plug in the drive connector. Close the lid and power up. Then do as above to initialise the hdd.

Hi,
I have tried to mount a interal HDD to my solo2 but I am missing the storage setting in the menu string
Menu -> Setup -> System -> Storage devices -> Initialisation (If using ViX).
HDD is spinning have delved all network mounts
Version 4 build 004
Am lost to why I can't mount it
Any help would be appreciated

Your post isn't making sense to me. Can you detail step by step what you have done and what you are trying to actually do? Is it initialize the drive?

Hi Tkr. OK got a as new solo2 off Trade me, now got a HDD to mount, turned it off fitted drive andthere are no options to mount or initialize at all

You need to check you have installed the drive correctly. Does it spin up when you power on? Sata cable installed correctly?
