I took delivery of a Miraclebox Premium Mini HD Combo from WOS yesterday. Everything works great with one exception which seems to be a common problem from my google searching. The box came pre-flashed with Vix by WOS as of Yesterday so I presume it's whatever the latest stable release is. I am using the Red-HD skin and only have the cable tuner active.
I am trying to mount and use my DLink DNS-320 NAS drive to my miraclebox and so far can't seem to satisfactorily mount it / record to it. Current status and what I have done so far is below:
Installed Samba and NFS on Miraclebox.
Activated NFS and CIFS on NAS drive.
Found shared "Voulme_1" in Network browser and mount appears succesful in Mount Manager (i.e. there is no little red cross next to the drive, the drive appears in green) and it seems connected using CIFS. I inputted my username and password which I usually use to access my NAS drive which has full read/write permissions to all parts of the NAS.
Under Network Browser I can't navigate any lower than the root directory of the NAS drive which seems a little odd. Note that the "Server Share" I have used is just the standard root "Volume_1" of the NAS.
When I go to alter my recording settings to try to allocate the NAS, I can find the mount point, but when I open it under the "Recordings" settings, I can't see any sub-directories. If I try to allocate the NAS root as my preferred recording point I get a message to the effect of "Network point isn't writable, please select a writable location". I have full read/write permissions set for the username/password used to log in under CIFS.
I have also tried a USB in the rear port (formatted to FAT32) and initialised, and a similar thing happens with that - when I try to select it as my preferred recording location it just won't record to it.
My settings are:
Mount Using - AutoFS
Active - Enable
Local Share Name - Volume_1Dlink
Mount Type - CIFS
Server IP - 192.168.0.2
Server Share - Volume_1
Use as HDD replacement - Yes
Mount Options - left as default
Username - *****
Password - *****
I have also tried using NFS and get exactly the same problems.
Note that I have absolutely no problems mounting my NAS to my Raspberry Pi media player or accessing it from any other location on my network, so I don't think it's a NAS problem.
Any assistance would be very much appreciated. I can post any logs etc. this evening when I am at home.
