extract vuplus-dvb-modules-bm750-2.6.18-7.3-4.4.3-20110531.rar you should get 4 files then Navigate to (lib/modules/2.6.18xx/extra) via ftp and replace with the new extacted files good idea to back up first just in case then reboot box

For those who are wondering what cec is:

Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is a feature designed to allow the user to command and control two or more CEC-enabled boxes, that are connected through HDMI, by using only one of their remote controls. (e.g. controlling a television set, set-top box and DVD player using only the remote control of the TV). CEC also allows for individual CEC-enabled devices to command and control each other without user intervention.[83]

It is a one-wire bidirectional serial bus that uses the industry-standard AV.link protocol to perform remote control functions. CEC wiring is mandatory, although implementation of CEC in a product is optional.[71] It was defined in HDMI Specification 1.0 and updated in HDMI 1.2, HDMI 1.2a and HDMI 1.3a (which added timer and audio commands to the bus).[83][84][85][86]

Trade names for CEC are Anynet+ (Samsung); Aquos Link (Sharp); BRAVIA Sync (Sony); HDMI-CEC (Hitachi); Kuro Link (Pioneer); CE-Link and Regza Link (Toshiba); RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI) (Onkyo); SimpLink (LG); HDAVI Control, EZ-Sync, VIERA Link (Panasonic); EasyLink (Philips); and NetCommand for HDMI (Mitsubishi).[

As for DDP:

Dolby Digital Plus (DD+ or E-AC-3 (Enhanced AC-3), and sometimes incorrectly as EC-3) is a digital audio compression scheme. It is an incompatible[1] development of the technologies used in the earlier Dolby Digital system. E-AC-3 has a number of improvements aimed at increasing quality at a given bitrate compared with legacy Dolby Digital (AC-3). While legacy AC-3 supports up to 5 full-range audio channels at a coded bitrate of 640 kbit/s, E-AC-3 supports up to 13 full range audio channels at a coded bitrate of 6.144 Mbit/s peak.

Dolby Digital Plus bitstreams are not backward compatible with legacy Dolby Digital decoders, and decoders that output audio over legacy S/PDIF connections must transcode the bitstreams to an older format such as PCM, AC-3, or DTS.

i was wondering that

my TV and my blueray are both philips and i am able to control my blueray with the tv remote if i select it from the tv menu
