Hi,
there is a possibility to flash the VU+ in another way. Ask Google for "flash nfi vu+". I never tried it.

Have you tried several USB sticks? Hanging for ages is not normal.

Hi mate you can use the vu util program with null modem from your pc to stb

there is no need to flash unless your changing images all the time any updates on the vix are done online normally unless major changes have been made to the image that it needs a reflash.
Also i wouldnt say it takes that long to reflash the vu anyway unless you mean due to going through the set up procedure again, a good tip is to keep a file on your pc with your settings and cccamfiles etc ready to reload in a jiffy did mine yesterday think i was done and up and running in like 10mins

yup thats pretty much what i do. I have a USB stick set up for every receiver with all files etc i need and it takes around 10 minutes to setup each box ( got 6 ).

Hi al i am new to vu duo i know if i upgrade to 3.0+ from 2.4 i cant use system restore how do i get my channels back for ireland as when i do rstore i get channels but cant install new line any help would be great thanks

Be careful where you are heading with this...
Use DreamBox Edit to back up your bouquets.
Use an ftp client to back up your cam & cfg files.
Don't restore a 2.4 backup to a 3.0 image, just ftp the required files back in place.

thanks for quick reply i have saved bouquets can you please tell me in detail how to backup cam cfg files i have found them in var etc how do i back them up sorry if this sounds stupid just not great at this sort of thing

When i updated i went into dcc and restored bouquets it seem to run lines of info on laptop and vix image came on top of tv turninr but at the end of this no channls on box please help

Hi, not sure if this is an issue on my VU or with vix, just updated from version 600 to the latest, however now when my machine starts it just hangs on the bootscreen. I know i can do a backup back to 600, just wondering what's going on and what would cause that as obviously i'd like to be able to update my machine.

First of all: 'the latest' gives us no idea what build you're using. Please state the build number.
Secondly: for any problem start your own thread; don't hijack a general thread for that.

Sorry, I read through a few pages but I figured as there were 91, then this was just a basic thread for OE 3.0, it was to build 627, I'll start a new thread to sort it out though.

Upgraded to 629 last night, when it had finished installing and rebooted it stopped at the splash screen, the info bar did flash up at one point. Left it for a while and then pressed the down arrow key to list the bouquet and found it had installed 'vhannibal ' , i previously had catseye's on. Changed channel and all okay. The splash screen presumably was because it couldn't locate the startup channel.

Not a problem but worth considering if you are left at the splash screen after updating.

I haven't had any problems previously but is this new update unstable? I will hold off until confirmed.

I'm not sure if this belongs under a new thread, or if it do belong here. As it is as much a report as a question, I chose to post it here. Hope I did the right thing... I have two Vu+ Duo, one running version 632, and the other is stuck at 630. On the 632 box I can now upgrade further, but the 630 is still showing nothing to upgrade. And yes, it is allowed to show unstable updates. Guess it's a bug of some kind..? Please let me know if there's any known fix for this.

This kind of issue Is affecting two of my 3 DUOs.
It'is recurring since Vix2.4 and I've reported in two different threads. But it's still unresolved.
There's someting that corrupts wget.

Real automount? Fan not running in Standby?

Hello,

just for a introduction in short words: I am looking for a new image for my Duo because I have big problems with errors in recorded streams (freezer) using VTI, PB or AAF - images.

So I have just installed the latest build 632 to test your image concerning this issue. My first impression is: Wow! A cool image. But I face 2 big problems:

The first thing is lets say a "real automount" with my QNAP NAS. I mean an automatic remount of the shares if I reboot the NAS. Till yesterday I was using the VTI-Image 5.1 and the PB-VX-image for testing purposes. With this images I can just copy my "auto.network" to /etc and everything is fine. Whenever I reboot my NAS the shares are mounted again as soon as the Duo needs them. With the VIX-image I have to reboot the Duo (restart of Enigma) to reconnect the nfs-shares. I have used the Mountmanager. I choose the option "FSTAB entry" because the other two options do not work at all. btw: is this normal?

The second problem is a "Fancontrol for Standby". I can do what I want: As soon as I toggle the box to standby the fan stops. I just want to keep the fan running in Standby. With the images I used so far it is possible to keep the fan alive in Standby. Is there a plugin available on the feed? I found none.

Can you help me?
