New Vu+ Hardware Drivers

Hi Rob,
VU changed a lot internally with the new driver as we both know. Not every update/upgrade is only good. Here we have 2 negative things:-(

ciao

Hi,
some news today:

- Support 1080 Framebuffer(duo/solo need kernel update)
- Support Dual DVB-T2/C Tuner(uno, ultimo, duo2)
- Support 4 vtuners(solose, vtuner is mutually exclusive with transcoding)

ciao

STILL nothing about the qwerty keyboard on the Ultimo remote control that hasn't worked after Apollo 24?

Nope, and I never expected that either.
Albeit having been asked to do so several times, VU has never implemented their R/C's the proper way; we had to make a hack to get them working in the first place. So why would they chance this arrogant attitude after being so stubborn for years?

I'm wondering whether the duo/solo will soon receive a further kernel update (beyond 3.9.6)? I've reverted to using cacheflush plugin on my duo because the memory leak with vtuners is still a problem with 3.9.6. I doubt they'll ever fix this properly:(.

Also, 4 x vtuners is already available on the solo2 and duo2 without restricting transcoding... so the restriction mentioned above may only apply to the solose.

cheers

If only someone actually knew when the new tuners would be available...

Update drivers
201412005 (zero, solose)

update drivers

20141229

- Improve media playback
- Fix tuning problem in DVB-S2 Single(AV6211) tuner(duo2, solose, uno, ultimo)

Already committed and will be in the next build.

People reported problems with media playback using the new drivers, so it's better to stay away from the update.

There were issues with the previous drivers, slightly better but still not perfect.

No, the 29.12. drivers are flaky, VU+ already released new ones (31.12.).

Hi ...

Surely they will be in the next build ... ;)
But when i want to use them today, can i put them in this folder ?
