[VU+ Solo2] NEWBIE - ipk installation error / CCcam install

Hi
Yes I have only recently registered :baby: but have had a
Vu+ Solo2 for exactly 1 year tomorrow
Kernal 3.3.6
Drivers 2013.01.25
Version 3.0
Build 600
Update 2013-02-03


I ordered preinstalled with VIX image and been happily using out the box ever since.
I decided to try and install CCcam to see if I can get the Sky FTA channels that I missed on my old box (Sony etc)
So following the instructions I found (thanks to many for the info) I downloaded enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.3.0_1.0_mipsel.ipk , FTP'd it to my box to /tmp directory and had no problems there.
Created a blank CCcam.cfg file and put in correct directory.

I then try and install the ipk file it get the following error.

execution finished!!

Initially found an archived posting as someone else had also had this error but no solution that I could find.
I have tried various things and restarted, factory reset but to no avail. Do you think that a reinstall/reflash of the box would be the best option. Changed the files and keep getting same error.

Do you beleive that a reflash would be my best solution? what about image, would I go for VIX again or Blackhole.
Just that I reading that the Blackhole image is superior for the VU+ Solo.

yes flash the latest version which you can get from here, you can also get the correct cam version from the vix softcam section

Problem resolved

Thanks eventually the problem was resolved. Thought I would list how I got there which may help other members (especially new newbies )
I managed to reflash the box with latest openvix-3.0.808-vusolo2 set up fine.

Attempted to reinstall cccam and then got another error

INstalling
Execution progress:
/bin/sh: Syntax error: unexpected "("
execution finished!!

After a little thought I realised problem was due to multiple copies I had downloaded thinking my initial error was due to corrupt file. (not deleted previous ones)
So extention was right but it was adding (1), (2) etc. to any additional copies dowloaded, deleted all but one where I made sure it did not have any brackets/numbers.
Hey presto it installed and is running aok. Even now have my old channels up and running as per my old box.

I don't get it: for FTA channels no cam is needed at all
And if CCcam wasn't installed: how did you clear your subscripted channels then?

The OP means FTV channels, but has typed FTA.

In the UK the Sony TV channels need a Ѕky card with a basic package to clear.

OK, so apparently he has no subscription at all. That would explain it indeed.
