Hi totally new to the forum so be nice please.
Decided to give Vm ( virgin media ) the heave hoo as sick and tired of poor service and even poorer internet... sorted the internet part. Now need to sort out the Tvs.
Thought it cant be that hard to decide on what to get and through google found world of satellite and joined the forum........... slowly got even more confused to the point of desperation and go against the "man" grain and ask for advice.
im the sort of person who likes my toys so within reason money is not a consideration what i would like is something that i will not regret purchasing so future proof to a point.
currently i have the following all are routed from a Av rack in the loft via cat 6A structured cabling to the tvs ( 3) i use a a wyrestorm mx0404 pp to distribute the hdmi to the tvs from the 2 virgin boxes ( which are going) also have attached 6 tb nas drive and Amazon fire box.
as the cable is going i will want to use satellite and this is where i start to faulter, Maximum dish size i can have is 1mt , But which one? how many lnbs and should i go motorised or fixed,
As to the satellite receiver i am even more confused as there seems to be so many choices, one thing i do like is the idea of using the almost hardly used ipad airs( currently used for controlling lights and the sonos system) to also watch broadcasts but its not a deal breaker.
i would like to get english speaking channels ( im in watford hertfordshire) sport aint important to me but the wife will insist we have it, but i do like the fact hat i can watch what i want on one tv and the wife on another.
i suppose what im really asking is whats the "dream" setup to use
