[VU+ Duo] No more FTP or Telnet access

wow, that's odd.
on past june 3rd I updated to build 143.
Everything was fine (and luckily i did made a whole image backup).
So I installed:
TSPanel 4.9 (I was trying to see if via tspanel I was able to find some a867 drivers)
AspectratioSwitch.

Today trying to access the DUO via FTP i was returned:
Error: 530 login incorrect

so tried to connect via telnet:
Trying 192.160.1.50...
Connected to 192.160.1.50.
Escape character is '^]'.

Really I did not change any password or login. Tried to use blank password for ftp but no luck.
So I decided to try and install the the setpassword plugin from plugin feed.
And worst of all is not installing! I'm give the following error.:
wget returned 255
perahps you need to run 'opkg update' ?
cannot install package... (see the attached screenshot)

TSPanel is not a good idea on VIX images.
I'd do a reflash.

You really need to get rid of all extras.

Just install from 2.4.143 from usb... do not restore any settings... redo all settings manually.

Then telnet in and opkg install the a867 drivers.

Your problems only seem to imply that there are incompatible things messing up the normal operation of the image IMHO.

Is TSPanel acknowledged as compatible with Vix2.4? If you want to dabble with stuff, then backup the clean image first so that you can get back if it starts doing these odd things.

yes mates I share your thoughts and was just pointing out that.
As said I do have a full image backup of a working configuration so I can easyly restor from that. IF I'm able to grab it from the DUO... since FTP is not working.

Its not that its specifically incompatible, more that its full of crap that breaks the image when installed, they also seem to offer almost no quality control of what they include in the panel. for example they have loads of so called ViX cams that more often than not dont even work with the image.

you know , I tried unistalling Tspanel, but the issue remained. It's sure it has screwed up something on the VIX system.

Just do a complete reflash and fresh install of everything on 143.. and that should sort all your problems..

Was just enough to restore from my latest working image backup. (2.4 143 +CCcam+OpenVPN+SAMBA)
Everything is fine now.
