[Zgemma H7] NTFS-3G driver not installing on OpenVix

Hi,

I'm trying to read .mp4 files from a USB flash drive that's formatted with NTFS. Build 6.4.004

OpenVix can see the flash drive in the mount manager but can't mount it as there is no ntfs driver installed (error 256).

So I've attached the box to the internet and selected the ntfs-3g plugin from the drivers section. A window pops up saying 'execution finished', but after a reboot there is no ntfs driver showing and the ntfs drive can't be mounted. The usb drive is attached before the box starts.

Anyone know what's gone wrong?

From the console output it looks like it can't find the correct packages, but I'm not sure why this would be the case.
Led lights are flashing on the RJ45 port. Wired connection to the BB router.

That's wrong. The opkg output clearly states a size mismatch.

Did you run opkg update before the opkg install?

If yes, wait a few hours and retry. Maybe the server is just about building the requested packages.

I didn't run opkg update as I have no idea what this is, or how I'd update it. I have googled it but couldn't find any instructions.

All I've done so far is update the version of OpenVix using the menu system and remote control. That seemed to work.

Are there instructions available for opkg update?

To use the opkg command you have to connect to your box via telnet or ssh. Then on the command line type in the following commands:

opkg update
opkg install ntfs-3g

I have googled it but couldn't find any instructions.

Just google for man opkg and you'll find all information you need.

Thanks for the reply. I've never connected to the box via computer. I just watch movies on it. I connect it to the internet when it needs an update, but that's it.

Is there any way to do this from the remote control? An option in OpenVix System perhaps?

Finally got it to work but had to update to the very latest image (v6.6), using the openvix image manager.

I think this was a bug with 6.4, or there was a problem with the server repository because none of the packages would download, and the box could see the internet because it found the latest image and downloaded that ok.

ntfs-3g driver installed first time and auto mounts usb drives.
