Most of the damaged capacitors show no sign from the outside. Only a meter can tell you.

I'm attaching a few photos here. Had trouble getting the duo started again but eventually did.

Can you test on a different LNB/Satellite dish and TV?

When you power off you should not keep powering on and off to fast, this will cause the redlight. Power off, wait 15 secs, power on.

Tried different TV, cables etc. Ive got a dreambox running here without a problem.

Just an update. Got my box back from the supplier. They said the mother board was replaced, everything seems to be in perfect order.
Here's hoping it remains that way considering it cost me £18 to return the stb. Thanks for the input guys.
