But it isn't the USB tuner that is the problem, people with different manufactured USB tuners are all having the same problem, it is VU+'latest driver, just checked my terrestrial USB tuner on my duo2 antd that is juddering too but going back to a build before the new VU+ drivers fixes it, how hard is it to use old driver in new image?

Nope not necessarily. For example you are running Windows, Microsoft releases an update and your "usb hub" no longer works. The manufacturer of the "usb hub" releases an update/patch, bingo your "usb hub" works again. This is exactly what this is like, you need to get in touch with the device's manufacturer to put pressure on them to fix it.

That is not correct (in my case anyway) when I go back to 09 the Problem goes away using the same latest USB driver from Sundtek.

Yep but needs an update fix from sundtek. Its just like updating Windows as said previously. Put pressure on them to get a fix.

There are currently no problems known especially no stuttering issues.
Check if recordings are ok - then you would know that it's a playback issue.

Someone told us that he sees that behaviour when the box has some load and that this is new since the new VU+ / VTI update.

This is a load of twaddle
If a driver does not work after you do an update its not the driver problem but the person who updated the program.

As it seems to be several usb tuners having this issue and if it's not a clash/conflict with the new VU drivers then this issue was therefore likely caused by a Vix update to affect several different usb tuner manufacturers.

Therefore, even if the all usb tuners need to update their drivers due to this vix code change then surely it would be helpful to the USB tuner manufacturers if they maybe knew what had changed so they could then fix it.

Is anyone who hasn't got a VU box, also having this picture judder problem with their usb tuner?

It is not related to usb tuners, it is the special interface which has to be used for copying the video data into the broadcom ecosystem.

Our drivers also have a network mode, they can be shared via another linux box just as if they would be installed locally.

There are a few options which can be set for the playback mode (those options can be set within the broadcom drivers).
This issue has been reported with VTI systems too so I doubt it's a Vix issue - its a VU+ / Broadcom driver issue if you experience it.

That said we tested the tuner on our side and did not see any problem (but we only utilized the external tuner itself - not the internal ones).

Dream Multimedia and XTrend users also use the same drivers from our side - no issue has been reported from those sides

If it is due to recent VU Driver change, then for those that wish to go back to previous drivers until a fix or workaround is sorted then I've attached the previous VU+ Solo2 drivers below.

1. I recommend making a backup image first and saving that somewhere like usb stick
2. Using Telnet put box to sleep using "init 4" command
3. FTP the attached drivers to "/lib/modules/3.13.5/extra" (over-writing the existing ones)
4. Using Telnet again, restart box using "init 6" command.

These VU+ Solo2 drivers are from Vix Hades 008 (driver date: 2015/05/11).

Remember these drivers are for VU+ Solo2 only I'm afraid: View attachment VUSolo2Drivers_20150511.zip.

Hello I can state on my duo2 and solo2 using the latest hades 18 I see juddering whilst watching via USB tuners whether terrestrial or cable, but recording from the tuners then playing back has no problems, I have managed to get all the driver files out of lib/modules/3.13.5/extra from hades 12 image back up for both duo2 and solo2 these are dated from May, I have overwritten the ones in hades 18 after putting enigma2 to sleep then rebooted, now my USB tuners are fine, Problem is VU+ new drivers which makes sense seeing as they have been farting about trying to make turbo work (or maybe they have purposely created problems with other manufacturers tuners)...
As it is Andy if it was a sundtek problem they would sort it asap, but it is a VU+ problem and probably won't be fixed this time next year, rubbish analogy as well, not the same thing....

Ps I am waiting for my USB dvb-s2 tuner to come back from sundtek (replaced with no hassle, they are such nice guys) so I can only state I have been having this problem with USB dvb-c/t2, I will try sat tuner when it arrives, in the mean time VU+ get your fingers out.

So it's confirmed it's due to new VU drivers. Thanks for letting us know.

Now is this an issue that VU have to fix or all the usb manufacturers patch their drivers just to make them work with what changes VU have done?

Submit any reports on this issue here:

sorry to bump this thread, but i'm having the same issues even on the latest updates. Is there any other fix apart from downgrading?

There has been no driver update since this happened so no it isn't fixed and with it being VU+ they might never admit it needs fixing, did you submit them a bug report?

Sorry to drag this up but I have heard that some 3rd party USB tuner vendors are now considering legal action against VU+.
They believe they now have proof that VU+ drivers are deliberately causing problems with certain chipsets.
This all seemed to co-inside with VU+ releasing their own USB Tuners which are not affected.
